WOW that really proves alot.Lets now ask the same question to the Czech country. :shakehead :biglaugh:

The guy said "if finns were asked most would probably not like that hit" or something so I proved he was wrong. So yeah, it certainly proved a lot.

A finnish hockey related website called and asked several coaches and NHL scouts what they thought about that hit and the penalty, and not one agreed with the penalty and all said the hit was clean.

It's in finnish but anyway..

Even Jagr would probably agree with them, he just has not talked about it. Maybe because he knows it was clean and he should keep his head up next time.

If the hit was clean then why did he get a charging penelty, game misconduct and thrown out of the game? :shakehead

Referees make mistakes, especially when a superstar bleeds. We have the benefit of watching it on tape and from several angles, the ref only gets one opportunity.

Please explain how a illegal hit that the player was thrown out of the game was a clean hit

Yes, I haven't seen a ref being wrong ever either :sarcasm:
The penalty was for boarding which it was NOT

I think the hit was clean :help:

It'd be a monumental shock if the USA upset Finland. USA is 13/13 GF/GA, whereas Finland is 19/2  :amazed:

Yep. This is the hot upset pick now but I just don't see it happening. Sure it will be a close game but Finland has been finishing scoring chances the whole tournament while the US has not.

The teams are much closer than what the stats tell. Even though I think the Finns are slight favourites, the USA has a good chance of winning as well. An American victory would definitely not be a "monumental shock".

Of course Finland is very respected as a hockeynation, but perhaps not as much as the rest topcountries... Well, I mean Finland hasn´t really won many goldmedals, no? No Olympic gold yet...and what... only one gold in WC? (95). Thats not pretty good at all.

However they do have a great chance this year, so we´ll see if it goes all the way.

Wow, you really need to take a sedative.

Finland has long had respect in the hockey community, I don't know where you've been to miss that.

Any team in this tournament can upset another. You're going to have to deal with that fact if it happens.

Hating on the USA is really old and you need to find a new angle.

Agree 100%... the "I hate america so much it makes me sick" is a little harsh... I mean, root against our hockey team if you must, but come on. That's just cruel.

yup.. We played terrible in the third and were lucky to escape with the W.

No we just played very defensive, Mertaranta just makes it worse. Every shot, even from red line is "daaaaaangerous" and everytime a player skates in our zone he almost dies of a heart attack. It is perfectly normal that the team trailing by a pair of goals is in the drivers seat for the last period, but finns played professional and smart. If they would have tried to keep on attacking, that would have opened more 2 on 1's etc. It was not a GREAT game by finns, but it was a good one. They did what was necessary.

Ok, then we had a pretty bad gameplan in the 3rd because the US dominated even on PK. Our problem is and has always been that when we have a lead, we become way too passive in the last 10 minutes of the game. Thank God Nitty saved our *** and we advanced to the semis.

If some team drop Finland from final im glad it is Russia, i love them skill and talent...

Well Finns have some chanches in semi-final, but Russia got lot more skill and maybe speed too.

Some Ovechkin, Malkin are unbelievable players and very young...also there is skillfull players like Kovalev, Kovalchuk. Also their goaltender Nabokov is hard to beat!

Yay, finally a fellow finn who perceived the game and Team Finlands strategy as I do. That was a perfect analysis Psychodad.
Therefore I have faith in this team and our chances to win the next game.
