I am being pessimistic Ducks won't make the playoffs

Like ohh my gosh, Josh Manson. The Clucks are like....the best drafting team in the league and develop so many good young defenseman that there's a thread on the main boards about it and ohh Lindholm.....swoon. And Fowler, Shea Theodore, and Montour. And like, Rackell is like the best young 30 goal scorer out there and there's a thread for that too.

Hey, let's not get out of hand now :sarcasm:

They will probably make the playoffs and get swept in the first round.
Pretty sure last time we were swept was in 1998, and i think we generally take seties to 6 games at least, last time we were takin out under 6 games was 2006 oilers. The way the team is built its pretty hard to win 4 straight against.

And if we get a top 3 seed in pacific, im pretty comfortable well be in round 2.

I mean the three teams teams outside that are still in the hunt aren't world beaters either. Avs , Flames and Blues are wildly inconsistent . So Ducks still have a good shot.

For the Blues, they have been very consistent lately.

I mean standingswise the Blues are not dead yet. Just playing like it but the remaining Schedule looks manageable if the team got their heads out of their ass , which looks unlikely right now but who knows ?

I don't disagree with that, I'm just saying they haven't been inconsistent lately.

Just for the record... sweep the sharks, beat vegas in 5, then were going to beat nashville in 6, and tampa in 7.

Corey perry will add playoff mvp trophy to his case, kesler will earn his well deserved cup... and hockey fans everywhere will rejoice and all will be right in the world.

They're probably gonna make the playoffs and get destroyed by Carlyle's horrendously broken system. They'll probably win some games on talent/Gibson alone but it won't be nearly enough. Then Murray will have the "well they were injured and struggled to get it together in time" excuse and put absolutely zero blame on the coach when the man is a relic of a good coach at best. A historical beneficiary of strong rosters and was never truly intelligent in the first place at worst.

they're going to win the cup

chris kelly is going to score the OT winner in game 7 of the SCF on a sweet pass from jason chimera

then carlyle and bob murray will get lifetime contracts

I mean if they managed to win another cup that way I wouldn't even protest such a thing happening.

I think they'll make it. They just need to beat out 3 of MN, Dallas, CO, Calgary, St. Louis, SJ, or LA, none of whom looks strong this season, or to have a better record than SJ or LA. They get two ways to make the playoffs against a bunch of mediocre teams. The Ducks aren't world beaters but they don't need to be this year.

Not bitter at all.

I am quite tired of watching the same teams in the playoffs year after year and their fan base just expecting it.

These teams have been on top for so long and their fans have always been rewarded that is time for other teams to have their time to shine.

Still bitter, eh?

The multiple Stanley Cups in L.A and Anaheim prove that point wrong.

San Jose is the only team that choked in the Stanley Cup final but at least they got to go to the final and have had numerous playoff post season visits.

Sjome of their fans haven't been rewarded.

It's easy to make the playoffs in the NHL. Over half the teams do it every year. If your team hasn't been making the playoffs in at least half the years, that's on your team's front office and possibly coaching staff. Demand more from them, don't hope that other teams suck. That just makes hockey worse for everyone.

I don't know why the Jets/Thrashers have been so unsuccessful. It looks like they're doing well now so enjoy that.
