It is a big issue. He doesnt even need a ton more speed, but a good offseason like laff had would do wonders for him.

But having a fresh chance could bring in extra motivation to make it happen.

You don't need foot speed to produce those numbers..example-Stepan...guy couldn't outskate a slug

That's fair. Certain types of players can succeed without it.

Kakko is not that type of player. Doesn't have the IQ or the skill.

I personally enjoy @Filip Chytil telling us regularly that Brett Howden is a Stanley Cup winner. I don't know about you. I hope Kakko goes on a Cup-winning team so that @Filip Chytil can extend his tradition to Kaap.

This is my sentiment too. There are couple of toxic factors to the team, that can't be altered.

Kakko profiles really similarly to Jason Robertson imo. And if Robertson has no PP time and plays w/o dynamite 2-way players like Hintz and Pavelski, he's very likely even worse than Kakko now who has at least added the element of being an effective checker.

I'm with you RE: who cares. One way or another, it's not happening here. And at this point, we need assets, room for wingers with a future here, etc.
