I’m glad Trouba decided to stick it to Drury if that was his genius plan. Did he really think Jake Guentzel was the missing piece? Imagine Guentzel playing with Kreider and Zibanejad, he’d be on pace for 35 points.I said this the moment the trade happened and was absolutely ganged up on by this board. Smith was a panic move. I said it back then. The move Drury was aiming was trouba trade, buyout holl, sign elite UFA winger that signed in Florida.
This teams core (not just trouba) derailed that whole plan...
This coach and the majority of this roster won the President's Trophy last year. This team is loaded with individual talent but lacks grit and chemistry. I'm pretty sure the GM is interfering with this coach as he did with the last one and it's affecting the entire team. Fire Drury. Why is this board incapable of blaming more than one thing at a time. Laviolette sucks horribly. Roster has some huge holes.
Lindgrens girlfriend goes up?So lindren's gf goes up away from fox as well, and it's still better than the rest of the 4 corps? That's funny
This team is so f***ing bad
If he was big and could defend against physical teams he wouldn't be available, DUCY?Girard is small and can't defend against physical teams. He will fit right in with fox and jones
Thats the thing, he’s paid presumably millions to figure that out. It’s his problem. But nah he will probably ice the team for the rest of the year. Won’t ruin his Christmas. What is something? You think other gms are lining up offering nyr anything good for these malcontents? He's trying to wait things out a bit to try to get some value, meanwhile the culture around the team continues to erode into nothing...
Imo he is the first one being canned, otherwise we'd have had more trades by now. They won't let him remake this team again. How many more losses do we need for Chris Drury to actually f***ing do something?

Sorry, i think that’s a load of nonsense. When you have a family and you have literally other human beings, helpless ones at that, you are (or should be if not a dirtbag) much more conscientious and would storm the gates of hell to take care of them. It’s not remotely true of all industries. The facts are, this core got old, had kids, and isn't as hungry as they once were. Family 100% has an effect on performance no matter how much money you make, and that is true for all industries.
When a player can't skate when they enter the league (laffy) and they don't put in the effort to get stronger or improve an issue (unlike laffy) then that stands out. Lindgren gets murdered around here and slowly people are starting to see that while lindgren is not elite fox is doing Jack shit to help. You’ve been very down on Fox lately, any idea what’s happened here? Is it as simple as he got paid and the work ethic disappeared? Is it frustration or some lingering injury?
yeah, if that was the plan it was a shit one.I’m glad Trouba decided to stick it to Drury if that was his genius plan. Did he really think Jake Guentzel was the missing piece? Imagine Guentzel playing with Kreider and Zibanejad, he’d be on pace for 35 points.
Fox has hit a wall. He needs to change his training. Too content.
He's the guy you sign in free agency to play in the bottom six at this point, you don't trade for him, its not like he was doing much in Pitsburgh either. He's fine but he can't be in the top 6, and you shouldn't be wasting assets on himI think Reilly Smith is fine and hasn't mailed it in, he's just a complimentary top 6 guy. Not a "I'm going to take over a shift" top 6 guy so he's limited in how much he can lift a line.
He takes paths to the puck other guys don't. All the Rangers have the same pathing other than Cuylle and Carrick. It's a way bigger problem than you'd think.
None of those guys have been with the team longer than 2 years to f*** up their habits.
Guentzel is a different type of motor. His deal won't age well but I think the idea was to add a motor guy to his two malcontents, instead he pivoted to got another malcontent to add to the two he had. He publicly stated after the playoffs his main goal was to get a rw for Mike and kreider. Smith is what he was stuck with. And they came to camp with the forwards all set, no competition. An absolute joke that again breeds entitlementI’m glad Trouba decided to stick it to Drury if that was his genius plan. Did he really think Jake Guentzel was the missing piece? But why acquire a player that an actual contending team doesn't want bc of his physical limitations? I would rather draft picks than GirardIf he was big and could defend against physical teams he wouldn't be available, DUCY?
The Rangers need actual, for real NHL defensemen. Worry about how the Tetris pieces fit later.
Jones is not an NHL regular to me.

Lindgren was not out there on the 6 on 5 where Fox couldn't get a shot through, played catch on the outside mostly and couldn't keep the puck in the zone or track it down before an opposing had an empty net chance. The wall is being partnered with Ryan Lindgren.
With what tradeable assets? The only pieces people wanted were otter and Gabe. The other parts were all meh. Look at the teams draft capital. They don't have a lot of assets. The biggest asset they now have besides Gabe is the cap space they opened upSo another UFA fixation comes back to bite Drury in the ass. Hilarious. Maybe actually build a real team this time.
yeah, if that was the plan it was a shit one.
Would do nothing to address the defense. and you sign another albeit elite winger to an expensive ass deal, when the team is packed to the gills with f***ing wing prospects.
It certainly would have made a splash for headlines though
If you think guentzel would play the same as Smith any further conversation is unnecessaryGuentzel on the ice stapled to Mika with this same garbage defense? the results would barely be different. Smith has been absolutely fine for what he is.
Is it possible this season has been the clusterf*** that it is due to the supposedly easy training camp Lavi is said to run, since a number of these players likely showed up to camp already out of shapeWhen a player can't skate when they enter the league (laffy) and they don't put in the effort to get stronger or improve an issue (unlike laffy) then that stands out. Lindgren gets murdered around here and slowly people are starting to see that whole lindgren is not elite fox is doing Jack shit to help. I said at the time fox signed his extension that it was alarming to me bc he is a defensive version of John Taveras. He is an effort skater, he literally looks like it is a struggle to skate like a beer league player and he often gets by on head fakes and iq, but his deficiencies are often masked by his teammates that allowed his skills to standout (that includes Igor). Fox to me is a quitter in the sense that he knows he doesn't have the physical attributes to win a foot race or a battle, so when he knows he's beaten he just mails it in. It happened tonight again multiple times, happened at the end of the Seattle game, it's a pattern and it's not what you want from your core players. People are losing their shit about mika's nmc but what do you all think is happening a year or two from now as fox gets even slower (I don't care about burst speed, I am talking about aggregate) and these struggles continue but he has a nmc? He is slow, undersized, and weak, how does that are with a nmc? He's the golden boy so some will get triggered but you can clearly see fox when he puts in the effort vs the normal fox level of play. He just can't sustain the high effort bc he physically can't do it. I have said since strome was here in the Quinn days that this team is not in a high level of NHL caliper shape and conditioning. The standard isn't there and that comes from the leadership of the team.
