As a Rangers fan, the Tortorella chants were absolutely hilarious
Where do I go for the Torts presser?
He has been spotted on the roof of the mts Centre........lol
Don't jump torts
Well, I was talking to a co-worker about this the other day.
There is a lot of parity in this league. For the record I love parity because you can pick any game on TV and it will be a competitive affair.
There are teams that are better than others sure. But on any given night, if an average team puts out a 'good' effort, they will very likely beat the 'good' team that puts out an average effort.
If an average team puts out a good effort consistently, and they have the discipline and a good system, they can win the Cup. I think this is what happened with the Kings last year. Great effort and the best coached team of the year last year. Talent? Nothing significantly above and beyond the rest of the NHL by any stretch.
Now, I'm not saying the Jets are Cup contenders of course. (cue the 'plan the parade' jokes) But this most recent string of games is showing some good effort, and nice steps in the direction of becoming a winning organization. Getting rid of the 'it's only the Jets...should be easy' mentality that other teams may have when they look at us, and more towards the 'We have a game against the Jets, a competitive team who can beat any given team on a given night.' And as fans that all we mostly want...a team that will compete every night.
Eleven more W's and the Jets will make the postseason IMO.

That's not only true of other teams, but the media as well. I was watching the NHL Network this afternoon, and they were talking about the Leafs slide. One of the talking heads said that the Leafs have "winnable games" coming up against the Jets and Lightning. Winnable games? Did you already forget what the Jets did to the Leafs 2 nights ago?
Yes, I know that any team can win any game on any night, and thus every game is a winnable game. But it would be nice to be good enough consistently to get some respect from the NHL community.
