A serious issue arises in my hunt for a laptop.
As you might be aware of, people other than Americans often have a different keyboard layout to accommodate for the different letters in the language other than English.
As it happens, I love and cherish and have chosen to need my tall Enter key.
And whaddyaknow, various manufacturers have started to make their own take on the Swedish/Finnish keyboard layout. And many of them tweak the right hand keys in a way that it has the American Enter key. Alas, seems to be the most of them.
And to make it worse, practically every online vendor sell their laptops by using the American promo pictures that obviously have the US keyboard. So in practice you will need to see the exact laptop live to be absolutely certain what the keyboard layout is.
I went to a store today and was horrified to learn about the American Enter issue. But also I got sillily intrigued by the Norwegian retailer Power having their own brand of computers: Cepter. Looks like they are made into the chassisses of the better known manufacturers.
This HPish started to tingle my fancy a bit. Mostly because of the the price tag, but also for the oddness value:
CEPTER DREAMBOOK N530-02 15,6" KANNETTAVA TIETOKONE - Power.fi
You can see the detailed tech data under "Tekniset tiedot".
But I'm also eyeing at the low end gamer options, mostly because of the full-sized arrow keys.
It's hard being a first-worlder I tell you.
