Replace the sign with a dog and you will do better.I hope none of you have to deal with dating apps. I imagine it’s exponentially worse for women but good lord I feel like I’d have better luck if I sat on a corner with a sign asking for pity dates.
Get your asses out to Biltmore. Everything else is optional.Speaking of dates my wife and I are taking a much needed break from kids/adulting to go to Asheville soon. We're staying downtown and I presume most of what we'll do will center around that. Any good suggestions on food/drink/activities? We've never been to Asheville.

That's on the bucket list but this may be more of a pub crawl type weekend.
Breweries I'd hit up are Wedge, Highland, Sierra Nevada, Green Man, High Wire, Burial, Oskar Blues, Catawba, and Twin Leaf. All of those except Wedge, Highland, Sierra Nevada, and Oskar Blues are in walking distance of each other. Wicked Weed also used to be quite good, with a separate tasting room called the Funkatorium for their sours. However, there's a bit of a divisive take on them since they were bought by Anheuser-Busch a few years ago. Wicked Weed also has a really good restaurant, for what it's worth. Other places worth eating are Asheville Brewing Company (though their beer is, IMO, subpar), Biscuithead and Tupelo Honey for breakfast or brunch, 12 Bones and Buxton Hall (both BBQ places), and I've had friends rave about Curate. If you can hold out until baseball season, a game at McCormick Field is fun. The Tourists are aLow-A team affiliated with the Colorado Rockies and their park is, IMO, one of the prettiest in all of baseball, in addition to being one of the most historic (they were one of the first teams to do Thirsty Thursday and the park was the site of Babe Ruth's Bellyache Heard 'Round the World, the shortest professional baseball game ever played, and Crash Davis's last homer in Bull Durham.)
If you do Biltmore, skip the winery. It's overpriced, under quality, and they don't even grow their own grapes (I don't think many of their wines are estate wines). If you want to do NC wine, go up to Yadkinville and spend a weekend up there.
Ditto

My son goes to college there so we go their often. GP had a lot of good info that I agree with so won’t repeat. Make the trip out to Sierra Nevada though, it’s worth it. Very impressive.
We loved Curate, but it’s a tapas place so you have to be into that, but we loved it. Early girl is also good for breakfast also for a non extravagant place. I’m not a vegetarian, but a friend recommended Laughing seed cafe and it was wonderful when we went for lunch. If you decide to go to 12 bones, make sure it’s open. Last time I was there it was closed as there was a lot of construction around there.
Not sure what things you are into, but we really liked visiting the river arts district. We also liked 5 walnut (wine bar) as they had Jazz often.
If you have time and want to spend the money, the Pisgah Inn on the blue ridge parkway is a very picturesque place for dinner. A bit of a drive and a bit pricey, but the view is unbelievable.
Great city to visit.
Great suggestions. Thanks!
Little known fact that Charlotte gets 5" more per annum and Raleigh 8" more than Seattle...Its raining again. I think Charlotte swapped places with Seattle.
I’m not sure how I forgot this, but if you get the opportunity for a very nice meal, treat yourself at Red Stag, inside the Grand Bohemian, which is across from the entrance to Biltmore. The wife & I have been there a couple times.
Can I thank you now for the suggestion.
damn. That place looks crazy! Love the menu. A little pricey for my frugal self but it has been a while since we treated ourselves to a nice dinner.
One other thing. If you have never been there and you have the time, drive up to the Grove Park Inn and walk around the place. It is incredible. Parking can be tricky (as they charge for the official lots), but the place is worth a visit. On bad weather/rainy days we sometimes do that. It’s only a 10 min drive from downtown. Thanks! Sierra is definitely on the list. Among others. We may check out the River Arts district. We like stuff like that.

In the River Arts district, if you can, visit Jonas Gerard's gallery (he actually has two), especially if he's in, it is a treat. Really cool dude and very approachable.
