It’s an interesting move, but do we really expect the scriptwriters not to f*** it up when they introduce a new character? They don’t exactly have the best record of not shooting themselves in the foot.

He and Harris are really close from their time as AGs, it absolutley could happen. I hope he shows up in a Canes jersey any time the White House welcomes a Stanley Cup Champion, regardless of whether it's the Canes or not.

Honestly, wouldn't be a bad pick. Unlikely, but NC is allegedly a swing state (which is ridiculous in any historical context, considering the state has only voted blue once since Regan was in office. I believe it was Obama's first term.)

So I have a long list of political terms on mute for Twitter/X, because I got tired of having every single thing flood my timeline. The only thing I can't block is "left" and "right" because those are rather common in hockey.

I added the VP's name (first and last) to my muted terms (nothing against her specifically, but more politics in general).

Suddenly my timeline is full of the "who's who" of right wing Twitter accounts. Musk, you absolute asshole.

Edit: And now going through and declaring I'm "not interested" in those posts, I have nothing on my timeline. All my hockey and memes and cute animal posts have disappeared. Cool, cool, cool...

He’s being very transparent about everything now.




I do wish one of the other Twitter clones managed to put up a fight. I do have a BlueSky account, but ultimately, they’re all secondary to Twitter in terms of engagement.

I might just start a new account from scratch and see if I can’t reset my algorithm that way. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll probably give up Twitter for good.

If that’s what you’d be aiming for, I guarantee the algorithm would take it a step farther and you’d be getting nothing but OnlyFan bots on your timeline. Which honestly, if that’s what you’re after, there are millions of sites on the net that would provide it better than X.

Twitter is a machine for political manipulation and psy-ops. It’s at least as bad as Facebook ever was. I’m surprised people continue to “give it a shot” at this late stage.

I’ve always just followed hockey writers so that’s what mine used to be. Now it throws me both parties because it can’t figure out which I like and it must know. I almost never get the writers without searching them out. Used to be perfect, I’d open it up and there’d be nothing but hockey. I don’t follow a single person but hockey writers and I don’t get anything hockey.

There are two tabs. A "You Follow" tab, which only shows tweets from those you follow. In chronological order, I believe.

And then there's the "For You" Tab, which shows tweets from people you don't necessarily follow, but might be relevant based on your algorithm. And they're often ordered by the number of impressions (views, likes and retweets) the tweet receives.

And when the algorithm wasn't f***ed, the "For You" tab was great for getting a canvas of your interests. You can't necessarily follow EVERY person related to your topic of interest, so it was a great place to get the lowdown. When the Canes were playing the Islanders, for example, that tab was full of Canes fans and Islanders fans reacted on the series, lesser known stats tweeted out about the series, etc.

Now, as bleed said, it seems that tab is less about conforming itself to your interest and showing popular tweets in said topic (hockey, for example) and more about finding YOUR interest in a popular topic (politics) and showing every tweet related to that.

So, I got myself a new laptop for Prime Day and I must say WOW what a performance boost. I mean, I'm not a big gamer, so most of the games I play are years old, so my 8 year old laptop handles them just fine...but man on the new laptop I basically downloaded all my steam games in a few hours and games that used to take several minutes to load take like 15 sec!!!
