idk how they're unranked.
I mean the only "notable" team they beat is Carolina...by 1 point...who themselves aren't that great. Even State who's been ass would probably be at least 4-1 against those schools

It's so weird hearing the sound of helicopters above all the time now but grateful to have them for friends, family and neighbors in the tough spots. Seeing the sense of community and togetherness has been a bright spot in all the sadness.

My new roommates, aka the parents, were able to depart yesterday after 9 days as their power was restored. It was odd at first after years on my own but went rather well. Not sure I am ready to adopt the 5:30 dinner time just yet.

Before going to bed I saw that half the roof had torn off by midnight. Still, its shocking to see it completely gone this morning.

Genuinely curious on what happens here, because they already have a new stadium proposed. Not sure they're going to want to spend much time and energy restoring a likely trashed stadium that is already scheduled to be replaced. (and especially because there's likely to be more pressing issues around the city that will need to be addressed, first)

I just got back home, have been in the Creston area since Sunday. I've lived an easy life, but this is the worst thing I have ever seen. It'll be a yearslong rebuilding effort. All of us that live in unaffected areas are gonna have to remember that when the initial rush of energy dies down, and regular life takes back over. Mountain folks will still be living it.

It would probably make sense for folks to target Thanksgiving (or around that time) to inquire as to what is needed at that time and reinvigorate "drives" to collect and deliver that stuff. I would think a Thanksgiving day food drive/cooking fest would be somewhat welcome.

Now that I think of it, I wonder if HF 26 might be up for such a thing. Thoughts?

A retired building inspector for the state I know is in Swananoa doing general volunteer work. He has been told it will take some time before they will be needing inspectors for assessments as they are busy with just getting a general overview and prioritizing what buildings need what. Too much damage.

Going to be a very long road to recovery for western nc. Those folks will need any help we can give them for a while.
