Let's get a win against actual competition even though beating that AHL bum squad on Monday was fun + whoever's going to this game be loud for this team coming out of the break, they deserve it

What's the over-under on whether we hold them to 20 shots or less? It would be amazing if we could pull it off. They're a shoot-from-anywhere shot-happy team.

Markstrom's gonna be under siege if I had to bet in this game, hopefully his confidence is built up due to the B2B shutouts to where he can be the difference maker again tonight

We might be one of the few teams capable of it, and I’d love to see it.

But regardless of the shots against, I want to see a win! With this back to back series, we have a chance to really put some distance between us and the rest of the division.

I'm excited. With that said, I hope they hit some adversity.

I hope we see the Canes play their best. I rather the Devils struggle and learn now.
This will force them to make system tweaks and or personnel upgrades prior to the playoffs.

One of the things I've read about Keefe, is that he struggles to win coaching battles in-game, particularly in the playoffs. What I've read on the boards is that he's slow to make changes during the playoffs when teams see each other repeatedly and the opposition figures out how to shutdown his systems.

The Devils are really good this season and Keefe was the right hire. However, I want them to keep developing their game.

Maybe our top 6 gets stifled and our bottom six gets a few. This is the kind of thing I'm looking for today.

Win, but win in a new way.

I expect two hard fought tight checking games over the next 48 hours. I'll be happy with 2 points but, completely satisfied with more than that. If not a fan of either team this might be too low event for your liking. LGD!

Yeah I’d be fine with a split. Regulation win and a OT loss would be enough to win the season series against the Canes though so it’s hard not to get greedy. Would give us the tiebreaker which we already have against the Caps too.

Will be interesting to see how both teams play in the 1st period. Could be some holiday hangovers to shake off.

in the last week or so Markstrom has turned face for me while Allen has turned heel. So I don’t expect much out of whatever game Allen plays of these two. Allen has been horrible since handing the Capitals the GWG the last time he played them, after a really good start to the game. He basically handed the Blue Jackets the game too.

Maybe he even plays tonight or they might give him two games in a row if it’s tomorrow night, because we have bum humpty ass Anaheim on Tuesday which is the first half of a back to back with LA the next day.

Thank God that Daws is living up to something in Utica.

Ah the Canes, the team most skilled at cheating. They figured out early that refs are not calling off puck interference and you can hold as long as you use your stick to press the opponent to you or to restrain the opponent's stick. Give them credit. It's maddening to watch. Of course, NJ has played them tough this season and hopefully the Devils are not still loaded up with egg nog when the puck drops.

I’m not at all sold on him. Just a few weeks ago I was considering signing Allen for another year if it’s around what we’re giving him this year. But if were gonna get him for really cheap it probably means we won’t want him anyway, because he probably had a bad season.

As one of the biggest heel marks for Markstrom up until a week or two ago, I never thought Allen would maintain his play if he were getting as many starts as Markstrom.

Jake Allen has a history of being a not very good goalie when he’s been given the keys. That’s why Binnington happened.
