Dwyer and Dvorak are NHL players. Ruutu used to be, but isn't anymore. Nash and Bowman are AHLers that this organization won't give up on.

I am so sick of watching Riley Nash play. I do remember the Caps game though, I was talking out loud about how ****** he was on the PP, then he scored. I felt like all I needed to do was ***** about him. I think that only works once in a lifetime. He really is a waste of space.

Say what you want about half our roster being useless but the reason we lost tonight was goaltending. They had good goaltending, we didn't.

Nash, Dvorak, Bowman and Ruutu are all useless.

Tlusty is a streaky sniper who can get red hot at times and invisible at others. Malhotra can win faceoffs. Dwyer is fast.

We have too many guys that are either a waste of a roster space or only above average at one thing in our bottom 6. We need better depth.

I'm comfortable with a top 6 of:

Skinner-Staal-XXX/Semin
Gerbe-Jordan-Semin/XXX

But we need a bottom 6 that is actually useful outside of not being too terrible for 10 minutes a game.

Again, I just don't agree with you at all. Our depth guys are depth guys. They're not supposed to be difference-makers. And they're actually quite good at what they're supposed to be good at. When Dvorak's on the ice, we possess the puck a lot more than the other team, and we get scored on very little. For as much scoring as Eric Staal and Skinner do, they possess the puck very little and get scored on A LOT.

Our third and fourth lines aren't costing us games. We're scoring 2.33 goals per game. That's horrendous. And it's not the third and fourth lines at fault. We're giving up over three goals a game, and that's not the third or fourth lines's fault, either.

I just don't get what you expect from a third and fourth line? Our supposed best players are double-digit minus players and it's Radek Dvorak's fault? I don't get it.

That's actually not true at all. In fact, it's pretty much the opposite. Dvorak hardly possess the puck, though he goes up against some tough competition. Staal and Skinner outshoot the opposition.

It's a team loss. They scored two goals on 40+ shots. First, that's unacceptable for the offensive talent in the Top 6 alone, let alone the entire roster.

But if you're only going to score 2 goals, that means your goaltender can only give up one. Which means you can't be giving up the breakaways and oddman rushes they did tonight, especially with the questionable goaltending we've had lately.

And finally, your goaltender can't give up multiple softies, especially on less than 20 shots.

Surely JR is "stepping" down if this season continues this way. That's the next logical step to me. Just finding some other budget coach is not going to suffice.

It's not coaching. It's AHL/prospect development and some crappy bad luck at our #1 Goalie position that has also turned worse due to injury, leaving us very little options.

Yeah, I think I may have been thinking about Pat Dwyer or something. But the bottom line is that Eric Staal, Skinner and Ruutu just finished a game in which each of them was MINUS-4 and this guy chooses to pick on our third and fourth lines.

I'm willing to wait and decide about Anton K but I also think at this point, waive Peters, call up Anton, give him 3-4 straight starts just to see what we have in him. Can't be any worse with Cam or Peters.

I think it has more to do with the giveaways. I'm not sure how the NHL calculates it, but those 3 seemed to have more than 2 total tonight.

The hockey gods love to screw with hockey fans.

Excited about your team's situation? Failure!

Excited about a player/prospect? Injury!

Think a player is "useless"? They'll score a goal

I doubt we would get the #1 pick, but Dal Colle or Draisaitl would be real nice.

Buyout Ruutu and Gleason.

Pick up someone like Kulemin, Vrbata, or Hemsky

Maybe Nikitin for D.

So:

Skinner / Eric / Semin
Draisaitl / Jordan / Vrbata
Gerbe / Lindholm / Hemsky
???? / Malholtra / ????

Sekera / Faulk
Nikitin / Hainsey
Harrison / Bellemore
Murphy

Ward
Khudobin

Maybe move Ward for picks?

I'm speaking mainly from the fans perspective. A new GM may not have the answers right away to solve this teams multiple problems. However, the fans pay for the seats/merchandise that can make this team profitable and a catalyst is sorely needed sooner than later.

Zero chance of a buyout. Again, they're not paying 10M+ for two guys to not play hockey for them anymore. That's just not an option. If there are no takers for Ruutu or Gleason, who is by far the worst player on the team, then they may have to bribe someone to take them. But I'd be stunned if there's a buyout.

The worst part of these two guys is that we had a chance to trade *both* of them in their walk years, only to have JR step in with an extension. I was *irate* over both these signings when they happened, while the board toed the "who else is going to do what these guys do for that price?" theme that is so prevalent around here. I really hate to pull out the "I told you so" argument, but I really did on these two guys. We're in a huge mess because of those two signings in particular and in any other organization, it would cost the GM his job.
