Ya , originally I wanted an entire new third line but Boq and maybe a Nuke / Marchment or two would be nice lol

Would love Val Nichuskin, PKer + he’d be a perfect spot guy in the top 6 if injuries happen. Would be on board with that 100%.

Well, I just woke up. Seems I didn't miss much but glad to see Boq and Okhotiuk are doing well.

I knew there was something there with Boqvist, was a real bummer to see him almost fade out.

I still don't know what to make of boqvist lol. his career trajectory has been a rollercoaster
He picked a really unfortunate time to try and make it in the league, with the Devils going through tons of turnover, questionable coaching, new GMs, terrible rosters, covid stuff…

He’s still only 22. In a perfect world where the Devils arent starved for talent, he’s allowed to marinate in the AHL and look like a stud probably up until next season.

Playing Nolan Foote in this game of the b2b made the McLeod line basically unplayable. He would have done better against much worse Detroit and the other lines wouldn’t have the extra minutes in the 1st game.

That’s not necessarily true at all. I’d say this is the perfect type of team for young guys like him and Zetterlund to be part of. On a team that’s already good and doing well they may not get a chance especially after already getting one and not doing so well like Boqvist did. On a lot of teams in the league Zetterlund doesn’t even get a call up this season. Nor if they did would they be put into a position to carve out an impactful role on the team. Boqvist is now in a position where he could be a big piece of a really good young team moving forward. I’d say he’s gotten really lucky with how things have gone. There’s lots of guys like him stewing in the AHL in better organizations who may never get the chance.

I don’t think Foote’s skating is as terrible as some, but having him and Bastian on the same line is a choice for sure.

I was hoping Nolan Foote would be somewhat of a good player for us, but I can see why he didn't get many looks with the NHL club this season.

The McLeod line can’t carry a newbie in general and really can’t against a team with bonkers depth like the Canes. They don’t have anything resembling something with normal 4th line quality, Domi is their 4th line line center.
