Woll out with leg injury

“I have no doubt in my mind, that while this leg sprain exists, he’ll wake every morning just thanking various Gods that he’s aligned with the one of the greatest hockey teams of all time. Just *that* knowledge will help his cellular wound healing response, the inner glow of health will be bolstered by positive vibes and he will heal like magic,” head coach Sheldon Keefe told the media following Saturday's morning skate, “We like to call it big nostril energy.”

Keefe added that Woll's return should be similar to defenceman Timothy Liljegren, who hasn't played since Nov. 2 when he suffered a stubbed toe while cleaning out his cat’s litter box. “Caught it on the bleeding dryer” snorted Liljegren.

The incident to Woll occurred halfway through supper following Toronto's win against the Ottawa Senators when Woll stopped a routine plate drop off the kitchen counter.

"When I grabbed the plate, I could feel something in the leg let go,” said Woll, also noting that his cat also seemed to sense a bit of discomfort before he collapsed on his kitchen floor.

Woll, 25, crawled over to the couch while unable to put any weight on his left leg.

The 6-foot-3 netminder had backstopped his local road hockey team (The Ajax Alphas) to a half-assed good record at the time of the injury. Woll has an 8-5-1 record this season in his neighbourhood league. “They’re a great bunch of kids, many of them nearly 13 years old,” laughs the big tendy.

Ilya Samsonov and Martin Jones are the current goalies with the Leafs' and both were asked politely to please skip their ball hockey games for the next four weeks.
