The feeling you get when Hulu finally grants you access to the game:

The loss this year was a lot of dumb special teams, refs, 3 on 3 OT, which isn't even hockey. Wasn't really anything to be worried about, games are going to happen like that in a season.
The Utah game was actually really good. They just shot the lights out. Detroit on the road was good. Pittsburgh was a masterpiece. The Detroit game at home was pretty even at 5v5 but it was fine. They haven't had a bad one yet.

Looking forward towards potential playoffs. We can say Panarin underwhelms but there are other factors I think at least as crucial to why we haven't been able to go further. Last year we didn't have a good option for our 2RW---whether or not Reilly Smith meets these needs better this year is still very much a ? Also missing Chytil turned us into pretty much a two line team making us an easier team to defend. It's not that Roslovic or Wennberg are terrible players but they were less than adequate for the needs we had. The defense being all banged up was another problem and against a hard forechecking physical team like the Panthers were last year that issue exacerbated.

If the Rangers do have 3 viable lines that can score come the playoffs it should make some difference and it might take both some pressure off of Panarin and give him a little more space to operate. If Mancini is a playoff injury fill in that will help our D because he can play. Having Rempe and Edstrom more acclimated to the NHL should give us 4th line options and physical components will struggle to match.

Yeah I think if Lindgren was in the long term plans he wouldnt have had to accept a 1 year deal that walks him to UFA. There's lots to dunk on Drury for, but not locking himself into a one dimensional defenseman isnt one of them.
Again, if he recognized how bad Lindgren is he would’ve been traded. Idk what kind of 4D chess you guys think he’s playing where you just use god awful players for shits and gigs

Have you ever looked at the win/loss stats with/without Lindgren. Yea man. Think, learn, then talk.

This is the same nonsense that said the team's record last season with Rempe was because of Rempe.

The glaring and central problem in the playoffs last season was a defense that couldn't get out of their own zone with possession.

Define great?

Adam Fox? No he won't be Adam Fox.

I think getting a quality #3-4 in the 5th round would be pretty great though. He's got a ways to go but thats a realistic ceiling for him. His game in the OZ is so much better than it gets credit for and he's surprisingly agile despite not having much burst and he has at least to this point shown that he has a knack for hitting the net when he does shoot the puck.
I don’t think he’ll be better than a 6/7D guy. Again, in the 5th round you’ll take anyone who can function at a nhl level

I mean, given his volume of physical tools and performance so far this is kinda weird to say? I don't think he'll be a superstar but he certainly has some potential.
he’s a bottom pairing guy at best. even if he’s just a 6/7D guy, you’re content that he’ll be able to slot in for a bit if one of your starting D is hurt. Any 5th rounder who can function at the nhl level is a win. and if he can stick on the bottom pairing, you’re thrilled

Yes, any 5th rounder that's a 6/7 defensemen is a win doesn't mean every 5th rounder tops out as a 6/7 defenseman. He already outperformed his draft status and there's no reason he can't continue to do so and improve. He's already a 6/7 defenseman.

And he’s on pace to beat Cuylle’s rookie record of disallowed goals.
