If the offense gets goalied, it's an auto loss because there is no reliable defense or goaltending to be found.

This game would've been way more lopsided if not for Demko, which funnily enough proves the point we've been saying. Even with a Demko, they just bled goals. Devils need to play better defensively.

Pretty wild that this exact game has been happening league wide this season. I literally watched this same game 4 times in the last week. Isles tonight, Rags Sharks, etc

Vitek has gotten way too long of rope and he's DONE here.

There's no salvaging him here after that playoffs.

Schmid hasn't been good, but he doesn't get chances. It's disgusting. Vitek will start again Thursday because he won 6-5. And he isn't even an advantage over a washed up Grubauer or shitty AHL Daccord.

When Schmid has these numbers after THIS many games then I'll start to bitch about him.

But they need to do what they did last playoffs. There's no doubt in my mind we're out in 5, if not 4 against the Rangers if they didn't make that change.

I don't think I've ever been less satisfied with a win in my entire fandom. The puck management, defense, and goaltending is just so atrocious.

Wanted to see this team lock it down at 5-2 so bad after a fairly good performance. That all came to shit. Happy with the W, but I'm pissed as well.

The only thing to take out of this game is the offense is good and everything else sucks the same way it has sucked all year. Nothing has changed. No adjustments have been made. VV is constantly hung out to dry and never comes up big. He gives up a goal on every single good chance and too many on mediocre chances. We give up more grade A chances in a game than most teams do in a year. Something needs to change.

Yeah I’m not usually upset after wins, but this team won’t win in the playoffs with this level of goaltending. Getting close to needing to pick someone up off waivers and start them just to send a message.

The one thing that does worry me is Fitz making a dumb and desperate move to try and "save the season" when it comes to the goaltending. That's why in the past I haven't ruled out making that move for Gibson or Markstrom even though I wouldn't approve.

I kind of feel like these types of games will get Fitz more antsy (you know....as much as Fitz gets antsy, I suppose)

This team still eats shit. Fun to watch if your not a fan and don't give a f*** about going anywhere in the playoffs and that's if they can win 7-5 6-5 to just get in. More fun than post Parise and Kovalchuk Devils teams. They were both boring and frustrating to watch. This is just frustrating. This year is a write off if this level of shit defense and goaltending continues.

I’ve been (relatively) patient.

I am no longer patient. Vitek Vanecek can not start a single game for this hockey team again. Ever.

He is the worst goalie I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching. Shooter tutors have better rebound control. “It’s the defenses fault!” people will point to the fact that 4th goal was tipped, but anyone who’s spent 3 minutes learning how the goalie position is even played will tell you that he was out of position and too far from his post.

He is a hockey terrorist. He needs to be removed from this franchise.
