Maybe something Around Guhle + pick with the Habs. Canucks get younger top 4 dman as they re-tool

Hutson - Hronek
Matheson - Dobson

Would be a great top 4
I like Hronek, but he's overrated offensively. If he's going to a team that wont use him on the powerplay, his points will drop considerably. Compare him to Guhle, who isn't considered an offensive guy.

Points (over 82 games)
Hronek - 44 pts
Guhle - 27 pts

EV Points (over 82 games)
Hronek - 31 pts
Guhle - 27 pts

He wouldn't see a second of powerplay time on Montreal. Guhle is much more physical, but is often injured and plays on the left. So Hronek gives you that more durable option on the right. I personally think both are good defensively, but since Guhle is always coming back from some type of injury, he's had some rough patches. Both are signed for the same term, but Guhle at a couple million less.

Vancouver would probably want a decent + added to Guhle. I would hate to lose Guhle's physical play, since the Habs D are already not physical enough, but if the add wasn't too big I guess it makes sense for Montreal.

Vancouver might be scared away from Guhle's injury history and although he's only 24, they might be looking at even younger players or high end draft picks / prospects instead.

His detroit year is his most points per game, most goals per game, best on ice goals share, best on ice expected goals share (outside of with quinn hughes).

Yeah the "top pairing guy on a really bad team" was exactly what he was in detroit too. He was their number 1 dman for the dog days taking hard minutes then too.

It's really weird how for every player across the league the numbers are actually wrong about and that THEM specifically is WAY better than the numbers say and you can only comment and have an opinion if you are a diehard fan of said team.

Filip Hronek was also a top pairing guy when the Canucks had a good season & were a playoff team, but that doesn't fit your narrative.

Hronek plays Power Play #1 and Penalty Kill #1. Obviously he took a back seat to Quinn Hughes on the PP when Hughes was still a Canuck, but only a handful of players in the league would play ahead of Hughes.
