I did it by birth year, and as I suspected, they would absolutely throttle team international lol.

There's 23 birth years represented in the NHL this season, so I added a 7th D and 2 extra forwards:

I would pick Makar for Canada because he plays the most ice time. Barkov instead of Heiskanen for Finland.

So McDavid --> Barkov and Heiskanen --> Makar?

IDK, I think I'd rather have McDavid + a better defensive dman, especially on a team that already has plenty of options at OFD.

Probably not that long ago honestly. The team is heavily dependent on teams like Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Austria etc. Nations that really weren't consistently producing NHL draft picks before 2000.

You'd be looking at teams that are only 8-10 NHLers deep.

That'd obviously be a super stacked team, but the depth starts to be a bit concerning.
