Whoever those acquisitions are, they’re either in the system (Marlies or elsewhere) or have left via free agency. These players in the OP are among the players that are currently on the team at this moment and that have played thin big league NHL games this year.

I doubt he was banned. He didn't seem like he had a posting style that would lead to being banned, he just liked to cherry pick stats and if that led to being banned, this place would be half empty.

Wrong... it was built wrong.

HOW they arrived at the current state isn't important compared to the end result. Think of it like building a desk. Having the best parts and tools in the world won't matter if it's built all crooked and funny.

With the exception of Tavares the core was drafted.

The support was mainly added through free agency. There hasn't been a notable trade to bring talent into the organization in years. The result has been stagnation.

They capped it out all to hell and had to start selling peripheral pieces before they even won a goddamn round.

The window slammed shut thanks to some moronic signings and letting key players walk. Inept leadership with unmoveable contracts will remain receiving the biggest minutes in a system that has always been flawed. Teams that want to seriously contend don’t generally applaud themselves for being mediocre.

Only losers give themselves a pat on the back for building a desk from Ikea.
