I think Laf starts on Zibanejad’s LW. Once he was placed there last season consistently he took off. He would have to move to RW to play with Panarin but then that means one of Kakko or Kravtsov have to play out of position

I don't think he really "took off" at any point of the season. He had a hot streak after his cold streak where he had 3 goals and 6 points in 6 games, but he also shot 50% during that stretch.

Excluding his cold streak, he still only had 11 goals 20 points in his last 41 games, while shooting 24%. That's still only a 40 point pace, and it's unlikely he's going to sustain >15% sh%.

I think expecting him to greatly improve upon that pace is asking a lot. Getting some more PP time should help, but he's also likely to experience a pretty big drop in shooting percentage.

If he breaks 50 points that should be seen as a big win for Rangers fans.

Who will his C be? Eichel? That would help.

I hope he does well but can't guess who he will have chemistry with and how much.

Rangers are an exciting team right now with loads of potential.

If he does, that’s problematic. He’s not going to score 100 points. If he out-scores those two combined scoring 45-65 points, those guys haven’t had good seasons or at least one of them hasn’t.

If pressed, I'd set over/under around

Lafreniere 56 pts
Kakko 38 pts
Kravtsov 17 pts

111 pts wouldn't be terrible. I'd still think this trio would likely outscore other young trios

Stuetzle/Norris/Pinto: 110
Byfield/Kaliyev/Turcotte: 100
Hughes/Holtz/Mercer: 95
Dach/Kurashev/Reichel: 80
Raymond/Breggren/Valeno: 70

(just ballpark, back-of-envelope numbers...probably way off on most and missing many others)

Kravtsov 17pts looks like you just looked at his statline from his brief stint at the end of the year and projected that out for the next season lol. I’ll eat my shoe if Kravtsov gets under 30pts. He should get at least 70. Kakko is more likely to get 17 than Kravtsov is

I don't think you are far off. I'd suggest that Kakko probably will score a few more points than you are pegging him for. I also think Kravtsov's totals will either be really low in the 5-15 range, which probably means he's not playing that many games, or they'll be in the range of a regular top 9 player like around 35 points. 17 seems in that range for a prospect that doesn't really happen too often for a scoring winger prospect. I think Kakko and Kravtsov probably do end up outscoring Lafreniere, but I think it'll be by about 10-15 points, so I think it's at least a realistic question.

A lot of people are going to be disappointed, it seems

I have Lafreniere as a top-20 player in the future..but he, like Jack Hughes, will be a slower buildup than other 1st overalls

Id guess 41 points for 0.5ppg

Just keeping myself honest...

Lafreniere/Kakko/Kravtsov: 111 (actual: 49)
Stuetzle/Norris/Pinto: 110 (actual: 114)
Byfield/Kaliyev/Turcotte: 100 (actual: 37)
Hughes/Holtz/Mercer: 95 (actual: 100)
Dach/Kurashev/Reichel: 80 (actual: 48)
Raymond/Breggren/Valeno: 70 (actual: 72)

(OTT, NJD and DET were pretty close though)

I somehow read the question as "how many goals" not points. So I voted 0-19. Clearly that's not a realistic point projection.
