He is averaging 0.82 per game right now. If he plays all the remaining games he'll hit 55 GP, which supposes for 45 goals.

Man, if he keeps that pace this will be one of the best scoring displays we've seen since 07-08 by Ovi (actually surpassing the Great 8)!

He’s got 17 remaining games, assuming he doesn’t miss any (a moderately big “if” - wouldn’t be surprised at all if we rest him the last 1-3 games). But let’s say he plays all 17, if so then he’s on pace to score 13 more goals. I’ll say he scores 12-14 for 39-41 goals in 53 games.

40 in 53 would be pretty amazing, 62 goal pace. For reference, Ovie’s 65 goal season in 07/08 is the only >60 goal season since Lemieux and Jagr in 95/96. And in that time I think there’s only a handful of others at a >60 goal pace.

Yeah over 60. But even 60+, it’s just that one Stammer and one Ovie season since Mario and Jags in 95/96. And just a handful of others at that pace. What AM is doing is very rare - up to a 67 goal pace now!

McDavid has 43 ES points...Matthews has 41 in 4 fewer games

the difference between the two players is powerplay production.

that's not taking anything away from McDavid's ability with the extra man, just saying.

I'm going to say all of them. Every single goal will be his. The hockey gods will come down from the heavenly rink to bestow upon Matthews every goal of the season as is only fitting as Matthews is quite obviously a demi god
