Montembeault must be a battler way he fought back to play some good games after being pulled in some bad games.

I remember his body language back when he was getting shelled under ducharme. He was bad and so was the entire team infront of him, but montembeault kept soldiering on without any hint of a meltdown in a really bad situation. I think his fight really showed in that time because he turned it around after the coaching change and he hasn't looked back.

I get the opinion Montembeault is a battler. Which is good because most of netminding is mental. Why it is so hard to judge goalies.

It seems that Montembeault is super great in victories or super bad in defeats, no middle ground.

Montembeault is right now on pace to play 65 games this year as Primeau is becoming unreliable and practically unplayable. The issue is Montembeault has never played more than 50 games since turning pro and that was in 2018-19. He has played around the 40 game mark the last few years. As the season goes on I'm wondering if he is going to show fatigue issues where his play dips and won't be as a consistent.

Hughes is dropping the ball, goaltending needs to be addressed.

Monty is the goalie who has played the most games in the East. With 33 games.

Monty is ranked 3th as the goalie who has played most games in the NHL.

Dude was a sieve tonight. I don't think he has it. NEVER DID. Knew from the beginning that S.M. didn't have the right stuff. He doesn't have the skill, the guts, the fire etc. Nor does he have a genius for the big moment - he just can't seem to ever make that pivotal save at the right moment that ends up turning the tide of a game. And it happens ALL THE BLOODY TIME with this goalie. Tonight he shat the bed AGAIN. Dvorak hits the post, almost 4-0, Laffs come back quickly and BOOM! GOAL! But not just a goal - *THE* goal that ends up turning the tide. I knew it as soon as the puck hit the twine. I shook my head, put down my beer and said "Beginning of the end." You see, I understand hockey. I know players. And Montembeault AIN'T a Stanley Cup winning goalie. He's a journeyman backstop who has inked a deal with a bottom feeder (i.e. our Habs). These are disgusting times. I feel like puking.

Be patient. With HuGo at the realm, I’m confident things will all fall into place eventually. They will replace Sam if and when they need to, like they are slowly cleaning the shit Bergevin left behind. If Dobes keeps this up, sooner then later they will give him more games than Montembeault especially if we are fighting for a playoff spot later into the season.

Why so sad? We have Dobes now, and Fowler to come. Plus it's not like we're seriously competing for the cup this season..

Monty is fine. One bad game doesn't take away all the good games he's had.

Anyway he won't be starter for much longer. Next year I bet you him and Dobes split 50/50 at the very least. Probably more games in favor of Dobes if he keeps this up
