I actually hope Cena retires heel. Kayfabe doesn't exist anymore, we all know it's just a character and a script... there is no need for him to retire face like there would have been in the 80s. No one treats retired heels like heels anymore.

No it is, the point of turning Cena heel is to get a heel title run, and turn back when he loses the belt preferably in his last match because he can't bring himself to cheat anymore.
Start the redemption arc at survivor series or maybe Bad Blood.
End it in December with him seeing the light.
The point of turning Cena heel is to spark some buzz and drive some interest in the product lol.
Cena vs. Cody with both as white meat babyfaces is dull as f***.

The list of potential Cena opponents with him working heel (Rhodes/Reigns/Punk/Orton/etc.) is far, far more interesting than the list of potential opponents with him still working babyface (McIntyre/Gunther/Rollins/Paul/etc.) No doubt the creative team have mapped out what these final 9 months will look like and there is a lot more meat on that bone with a heel Cena, title or no title (and I do think he will win the title).

Seth character is a tweener he can work heel or babyface depending on the opponent.

When he walks to the ring he acts like a babyface. When he opens his mouth he sounds like a heel.
Cena will win the title at WM, be all heel through the summer, Cody gets a rematch at SS, Cena wins again, but Rock is there and keeps whipping Cody and basically going all emperor on Luke. Lena pulls the Vadar and turns on Rock and that's the farewell match. Cena Vs Rock.
