In last 33 games he has 15 goals and 25 points + 17

That's a 37 goal, 62 points +42 over full season. Of course small sample size but nonetheless, he just turned 24 a few months ago.

Tied for team lead in GWGs as well with 5. Minimal PP time. 6'3, 2 way C, excellent defensive, faceoff specialist.

What is his ceiling?

He got the most ice time of any forward last night. Green clearly sees him as one of the top guys up front. I doubt anyone looks at the Pinto, Grieg and Amadio line as the "third" line. The way they've been going, they're every bit as good as the Stutzle line.

They were the #1 line in ice time last night. Green going with the hot hand, but that will probably happen more at home with them being the shut down group. Grieg is 2nd among forwards in ice time for March, only behind Stützle.

I think Pinto will be one of the better shut down C's in the league and that's huge. He can score 30 at some point and play stellar D, he's really smart out there. That +17 in 33 games is head and shoulders above any other forward during that time, he's a big reason we're a playoff team right now.

That stretch where he had like 3 points in 20 games showed he was clearly still not recovered from his injury. I get people wanted to rush him back when we faced the top teams in our February losing streak, but thank goodness we didn't.

I always thought it looked like he was snake bitten and lost a lot of confidence, but that makes a bit more sense. He was unbelievably inept offensively for so long.

I have always said that Pinto has top six potential & could easily be the second line centre on this team, if they wanted to move Cozens to the wing. However this team is rolling right now & I doubt Green makes any changes anytime soon.

I see Pinto as a 3rd line C now with potential to become a 2C in the future. His playmaking needs improvement as does his ability to make other players better. He may get there some day.

He's great and can still mature. He seems more like a goal scorer than a playmaker.

Stutzle is a great playmaker and Cozens seems to have that gift as well.

Pinto has the details of the game down. There have been many times this season where analysts have broken down how he subtly affects the game, things like being poised with the puck. He is very aware of situational play.

If his line-mates are changing and he has possession near the offensive zone he will slow the play down and draw the other teams forwards towards him and then put the puck behind them. It allows the next line to get on the ice and rush into the offensive zone. Another example is how he reads the play when in the defensive zone. He knows when to back off and when to rush the point and break up the play. Just a very savvy veteran-like player at a young age.

He's what we hoped Curtis Lazar would become before getting mono from a discarded cheeseburger derailed his career. The next Mike Fisher.
Wouldn't a bacterial infection be more likely than a viral? Either way, with the reports saying we were very high on Thomas Harley, imagine if we picked 1 spot earlier...

Harley, Pinto, and Kastelic would have made 2019 a great draft even with us having to lose 4th overall to the Avs.

It wouldn't surprise me if Harley was our guy, because I remember there being some rumblings that we weren't happy with how the draft played out ahead of our pick. Dallas also loves to swoop ahead and take our guys like they did with Oettinger.

Oettinger, Formenton, and Batherson would have made 2017 an excellent draft as well, ugh f***ing Dallas.

He really struggled early in the season, as evidenced by the data below which was for the first 30 games of the team but I'm sure if you take the last 30 team games it's been night and day better.

Damn, we still can't copy/paste a picture or incorporate a link on HF...

Click on the arrow on the right until it's Pinto card, it shows that he was in the 20th percentile for Offense and 47th for defense. And only 2 on the PK and 29th on the PP (the highest to 100, the better)

2nd line 2-way C but I hope he eventually gets Selke votes
