How does Paul Bissonnette have a platform?

Of all the insufferable personalities in sports, Biz is the one who sends you over the edge? I’m not a loyal Chiclets listener, but hockey has needed someone like him for awhile. He’s funny, charismatic and the fact he actually was an enforcer makes his insights to the game just legit enough. There is a reason you see him everywhere, it’s because people like what he brings to the table and the sport needs more of that

The market of 16-224 year old “bros” love him because he acts just like them.

Any real adult knows he’s an idiot
Ah yes, the "real adult" retort. Glad you stooped down to everyone else's level to share your irrelevant opinion.
Another "my humour is too smart" guy here policing some light comedy on his hockey broadcasts. You can watch Ron McLean wax poetic with a bunch of puffed-up insincere crap if you want pal, nobody forcing you to consume a little bit of light entertainment to go along with watching the ever so serious game of hockey.

If you still find conversations about “smashing broads” or “getting buckled” funny once you’ve reached your mid 20s then there’s absolutely something wrong about your development

Says the guy eating my taxes living on the east coast. Big adulting!

aka "I never got the chance to f*** girls or have a good time, so anyone who does is automatically dumb and immature. Me on the other hand am a sophisticated individual who only likes challenging humour."

His target demographic is younger and dumber than me but he seems likable enough. I remember when the Penguins drafted him and his first call-up to the NHL and he seemed to have a personality even then.

I played Junior big fella, we all had our share of “girls” stories. They were fun when you’re a kid. When you’re approaching 40? Yeah, not so much.

Some people grow up, others don’t. Story of life.

Equating someone liking Bissonnette (especially the neutered version of him that exists on TNT) to an inability to grow up is total nonsense. Especially given the extremely poor alternatives we have for talking heads around hockey.

Also, you've unequivocally stated here that you were a part of these antics you so despise when you were younger. One day you woke up and decided to wash your hands of your past and begin the holier-than-thou stage of your life? You're an interesting human, I'll give you that.

Nope, pretty much everyone acts like that in their early 20s and before, especially anyone involved in competitive sports. Then you grow up and realize it’s ridiculous behaviour and “humour” for children. Some people struggle to grow out of that stage.

Maybe someday you’ll get there

I think that's a really small part of what Biz does. At this point in his career the stories about women are often used to create an uncomfortableness and/or to see a reaction and that's entertaining. He's willing to ask questions or go into territory that many others in the media world aren't, and that's what's fun. He talks like he's talking to his buddies and actually seems like a genuine person, who you see on screen or on your audio is who you'd get if you met him in real life. Can't say that about a lot of other guys in the media. I like the fact that he acknowledges his past and what it's like for young NHLers. He's not actively living that lifestyle anymore.

When they're not intentionally stirring up fanbases WWE style on Chiclets, it's great hearing stories from the past and players let loose a little. They're also pretty insightful about the mind and lifestyle of an NHLer. He's also incredibly successful if you really think about it, and is way more ambitious and intelligent in some areas than most. A fourth line grinder who nobody cared about and now he's one of the biggest personalities in the game, and he managed to get a popular podcast, a popular beverage, and is now on a national broadcast for TNT. He's earning more money now than he did while playing, all while being viewed as an "idiot" by most because they don't realize he's playing it up most times.

Biz is doing more for the growth of hockey in the states than anyone. He has some bad takes and him talking about all the girls he used to hook up would kind of get old. But if you listen to him now vs when he first started hes evolved immensely. He's toned it down and has taken criticism to heart. He is also a huge ally to the LGBT+ community and he mentions this quite often. The NHL as a sport is so behind the times on social issues and is really an old boys club. We need people shaking it up. As for CBC, Bieksa is the only decent person on there.

Any real person that has played the game knows he is a beauty. Tell us you never played without telling us you never played.

Glad to know you are the standard for 'real adult' quality control and accreditation. Congratulations on the title.

Lol I don't listen to spitting chiclets. Not a fan of frat boy humour etc, but this is a ridiculous take.

There's nothing wrong with what Biz is doing. He's an entertainer for God's sake.

You sound like a whiny kid btw, not a "real adult".

In my 30s and I love Biz and so do a lot of other guys my age. Sorry you don’t though, maybe lighten up a bit.

Trading war stories with the boys never gets old, Jesus you must be a real peach to be around

I am guessing by the response to your hilariously bad takes that I can leave this for now and let everyone else pile on. Maybe someday you'll get...somewhere!

Yeah anyone who uses the term “beauty” in outside of hockey isn’t someone Ill ever value their opinion. So you’ve got that going for you.

Of course he’s an entertainer, and he’s got a great market for young kids like I already stated.

There’s a reason most actual adults find his humour ridiculous and don’t take her remotely serious. And that’s fine, it’s not his demo.

Pretty big difference between talking between your friends and talking to a national audience on a podcast but okay guy!

Source for ‘most actual adults’?

Not all of us adults are like you. Thus biz having a huge following.
