How does Paul Bissonnette have a platform?

He’s playing an exaggeration of him self. He is ether trying to be entertaining or annoy you. So if you fall into ether of those he’s succeeded at his job.

Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear was this way, played a complete exaggerate character of himself. People ether loved it or were annoyed to death by it.
Agreed.

2 of his 'adventures' that I found hilarious was Biz visiting Sean Avery in NYC and Biz/Whit teaming up against Crosby/MacKinnon in a round of golf for drinks/dinner.

"How does Paul Bissonnette have a platform?"

This is a great question to ask as we're now subjected to ESPN post-games with Scott Van Pelt and Dominick Moore in kissing distance, immediately cutting to highlights of college softball.

People are seriously wondering why a retired pro hockey player is a bit of a manchild? Lol, most pro athletes are dumb as f***. That's why so many of them go broke after they retire.
What's hilarious is, in this scenario, Biz has probably made way more money from TNT/Spittin' Chiclets/Pink Whitney than he ever did as a player.

I like the idea of Biz waaaay more than I like the actual Biz. When he first got the gig, I thought, "Shit, why not. A fresh voice in this age of digital media. Might be interesting." I'm old, but I'm not a dinosaur. I'm open to new ideas.

Fast forward a bit, and he's often really hard for me to watch. Not only will he not ever, ever STFU, but his humor mostly falls flat for me. Then again, I like clever, smart humor, and Biz's style is more slapstick Benny Hill. I'll go an entire show enjoying the panel, then he does his thing, and I cringe. I keep waiting for him to hit Toc in the face with a pie. My girlfriend said to me last week, " Who the hell is Biz, and why are you always yelling at him to stfu?"
Apologies but the line "I like clever, smart humor" is so smarmy and self-important. I'd rather listen to some lowbrow slapstick BS humor than ever be in a room with a guy who describes himself like that.

Who describes their humour as smart lol
There is a lot of embarrassing takes in here. If these self-titled genius’ like @Stony Curtis @syz @EdmFlyersfan @KingDeathMetal @Filatov2Kovalev2Bonk want to sit around with a dump in there pants watching Jeff Marek they can have at it.

If you don’t like a guy having fun reading a starting line up while the kids in the room have a blast then you have issues. I’m sure they would prefer Elliott Friedman going in and reading the lineup in monotone so nobody is offended.

I suppose that could be true ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I respect your opinion, but I personally don’t enjoy seeing people lose their lives/careers because people don’t agree with them, or they are outspoken, etc. Clearly we all don’t feel that way. But thanks for the input
Hardly anybody has...

Also employers are allowed to fire your ass if you represent them in a public fashion and say stupid shit.

Didn't he get fired for treating coworkers like trash on set? I'm not so sure Clarkson was exaggerating himself, unless he went full Shia Lebouf and permanently believed his new persona.

Dumb dudes are a thriving industry.

I don't mind him. He always come across as a normal dude to me which I appreciate. Far too many phonies on TV these days and it completely turns me off from watching.

Guy is a whole ass man child. Even on TNT, he's so damn cringy and awkward. Definition of a punching bag.

He tweets like a 13 year old boy. Hoping on a bandwagon whoever plays the Ranger. Seeing a grown man cry is pretty funny I must say. Guy is a tool.

Biz is a idiot.....doesn't bring anything to the table as a hockey analyst. He's horrible, hate watching him on TNT.

Got to love when guys put themselves on a pedestal and make a grammar mistake while calling someone an idiot. Irony at its best.

Sorry at 2am I may have made a grammar mistake. Pardon me sir, how ever shall I look myself in the mirror now.

He punched a producer after a long shoot one day because there wasn't any warm food available at the hotel. He was also going through a divorce at the time and probably not in a great place overall.

He's taken a lot of flack over the years for insulting various groups of people and that was the last straw.

The TNT crew is so refreshing. Gretzky & Biz is a hilarious combo. I realize this is an opinion, but based off Biz’s success it seems pretty obvious the numbers back this up as well. Hockey can be dreadfully homogenous at its worst

I like that 9/10 of the comments supporting Biz/Chiclets/Barstool in this thread are just giddy at how annoyed he/they make other people, rather than actually commenting on the quality of the work

You can pretty much map out someone's entire personality from it

Likewise from these types of posts. The no fun police are out in full force.
