How do you improve the Wings?

I can SY trading either of Lyon or Talbot if it makes the team better for his anticipated widow, but I can also see SY signing Lyon to a 2-3 year extension, knowing that the injuring history of both Lyon and Talbot will offer a lot of opportunity for Cossa next year if he sees the team as being a divisional playoff spot contender in 2025/26.

If the wings are still quite firmly in the thick of things in a month's time, I don't see SY making any big moves unless it is too good to turn down, the team is still more than a piece away from being cup contenders.

Yes a package with those players for cozens/zebras is insanity lmao

Veleno being gone has been a sure thing for a while 0% chance has there next season . Wed be lucky to get a 4th
 
I think Ducks would do a deal like for Zegras easily. He's not playing that well. Idk if Red Wings would want him outside of a move with those players involved.

Veleno, Holl, 3rd round pick for Trevor Zegras isn't crazy, you're essentially taking a risk he'll restart his career from 2/3 years ago. Cozen's you might have to pay a little more up for, but he's signed long-term and to bigger cash.


* Chicago's ready to deal too, try and get RHD Alex Martinez. Veteran, hometown guy.

Holl is garbage , we should be paying them to take him on ... veleno is a 4th liner and a 3rd rd meh

Zegras's production has declined no doubt. I'd still take him, had back to back 60+ pt seasons super skilled 23 years old

Ducks will trade him but they wont give him away. I think they get a late 1st from a cup contender at least

You say these players are thrash but you want them and dont want to give anything but our trash lol

2nd rd + plante + berggren at least and no way its enough... I'd do it cause I think a change of scenery would do him good but I cant see yzerman ever making a trade for him

If verbeek doesnt want zegras, yzerman wont

Idk, maybe that's just my point of view of all players involved, even Cozen's. I really don't value Trevor Zegras that much. I really ok not even making a move for him outside of what you said, moving around trash for some "perceived" upside trash.

I guess it is crazy, I wouldn't even give a 2nd round pick straight up so... 🤷‍♂️ :popcorn:

Guy I'd target for a smiliar package would be RHD Alec Martinez from Chicago.

In trades I just have the bar low now, and it seems some additons have been made by subtracting guys minutes/time(Holl/Compher/Veleno/Motte)

He might get enticed cause ducks are a big team and would like Rasmussen and what he could be. Dont think yzerman has given up on him yet

I just cant see yzerman being in on zegras , veerbeek and yzerman are too similar so if verbeek is fed up with zegras yzerman wont be interested

That's cool man we all have our own opinions... I just think the guy obviously has skill and for whatever reason hes not producing. I think if he gets dealt he can go back to 50-65 pt range

I just wouldnt give up a ton but I would give up a 2nd and plante only cause of buchelnikov nygaard finnie Lombardi etc... already in the pipeline

Just cant see yzerman showing interest

You might be right - I could see Yzerman not wanting to take a chance on Zegras. I guess I'm just looking for ways to get Moose and Joey outta here while trying to find another scoring piece.

Think wed be lucky to get a 4th for 4th liner veleno .... think Rasmussen stays for a while , hes doing good now with soderblom

Id do 2nd + veleno for oleksiak
 
Just noticed right after we let niederbach walk hes now tied for 2nd in pts on his team and double production from last season so far .

Going to be 23 this summer ... anyone against bringing him over to grand rapids ??? I dont think hes going to be a star but seems to be playing well and I'd much rather have him in g.r than a Hanas or some other bodies there

His production is still only okay for an SHL player his age. I think the NHL potential is minimal.

Well he must be on a bad team if hes tied for 2nd in scoring. He must be doing some things right

Not thinking hes going to be some great top 6 nhl forward for us but hes still only 22 atm , is it a bad thing to knock off Hanas and a couple of guys and insert a fresh 23 year old???

We brought in a player from Europe who's about the same age and his production has been meh. (Forget his name sounds something like rchlovsky)He cant be any worse
 
Didnt know where to post this ...I heard friedman mention that the NHL is looking at more expansion bs (ffs) anyone know when it would happen??? Our roster is finally getting good and were gonna lose players we actually dont want to lose to one or 2 teams?ugh

Anyone remember the rules ??? 7 forwards 3 d 1 goalie?? Players in the AHL count ??? I'm hoping expansion happens in 2 years now all in one go so we dont have to use slots for the kids

I'm thinking copp should stick around as a 4th liner when the time comes to be a player we can expose. I'm more weary of giving assets now for a hague etc...

Mazur Rasmussen berggren wallinder buium debrincat Lombardi are some guys who would be available. Dont like it

We might as well use a lombardi/mazur in a package deal for a cozens/mctavish since they'd be claimed anyways and protect the one that's left... cant see debrincat signing longterm so he might be a trade chip I predict

If the expansion draft is in 3 years will cause more problems with pellikka etc.. having to be protected

Might as well target an oleksiak,soucy,alec martinez now unless were willing to expose or pay up to protect Albert Johansson when the time comes

We might lose both buium and wallinder if theres 2 drafts ... deal one for jiri Fischer's kid and should give us a dman that wouldnt be exposed in the system that can play later on

Eventually maybe, but Seider had one of the best rookie dmen seasons in the NHL in the past 30 years. You rarely see Euro dmen hit the NHL in year one, because there is an adjustment period to playing on NA ice from a defensive perspective.

I'm not counting him out as he is supremely talented. I think there is a decent chance he is a 3rd paring PP kind of guy next season, but Yzerman and team will be in no need to rush him. I could easily see Yzerman saying he wants him in a top 4 role and keeping him in GR until he thinks he is ready for that.

I mean I thought Ed was ready after camp last season but Yzerman still held him in GR. I could see a similar NHL entrance for ASP.
