Ed should have been up permanently midseason. The other kids haven't even shown that they're anything more than average AHLers. Though I would have preferred so see one of them instead of ZAR and Czarnik, while Czarnik may be better in the AHL than the kids, he's too small for the NHL.

Putting AHLers on the roster doesn't make the team better, it'll just be a repeat of the previous 5 seasons. High draft picks doesn't guarantee automatic NHL success, it's like nobody learned anything from having to watch Zadina, Svech, and Cholo.

As For the other kids most are 22-23 , at what point do we go with the kids and give them a look? Berggren and edvinsson should have been up since game 1

Kasper I believe can play 100% on an nhl roster. Danielson seen 0 ahl time so Its logical he stays down a year but I keep hearing how he almost made the team and what if he forces himself in this year etc....

Berggren and edvinsson should have more nhl games under them and will 100% be there game 1 and johansson as well (should have seen some games by now)

Either way mazur soderblom should be on the team in 2025 100% as well as danielson and kasper. We would just be delaying this mess another year

It was a mistake to not bring kids last season. Edvinsson, AJo , Kasper, Berggren, Mazur, should be with Wings game one.
Danielson, Soderblom and Cossa with GR and have some games with Wings.
If team in the middle of the NHL , bring some good players over for playoffs rush
If team in the bottom of NHL , so be it, we have nice draft 2025.
It's all about being good team for long time and for that prospects need to get evaluated and develop .

Danielson may be ready for next season in Detroit. He’s gone beast mode in the playoffs.

I think Kasper and Mazur need one more season to cook.
AlJo should be the 7th D.
Yzerman needs to trade some dead weight like Holl, Maatta, Chiarot, Petry. 2 of those guys need to go for sure.

Soderblom and Berggren played well with Veleno last season. If the wings can trade Fabbri I’m ok with that as a third line.

I didn't mention Burger, I think he played better in his callup but unfortunately didn't register enough on the score sheet. He had to start in GR because he didn't play any defense or battle for the puck. He'll be on an NHL roster next season because he has to go through waivers.

Out of all of them, Danielson looked the best in preseason. If any kid deserved a shot, it was him, but he's also the youngest so it's understandable to send him back to WHL. The transfer agreement really sucks for kids like him, a full year in GR would have been better.

I'm keen on dealing Fabbri if we need the cap space. He put up some points but he doesn't play a big role or eat a ton of minutes. And the expiring contract probably makes it easier to deal him.

I also just don't like how he fits on the team but it's not something that makes me want to just dump him.

After signing raymond and seider funds will be low if we want to make moves. Both are gone after next season regardless if they're dealt or not

I'd much rather deal them both for picks now and use the funds towards getting a joshua and roy

So draisaitl is a free asset next year so you wouldnt get him cause he costs no assets??

Matt roy is top 4 dman who would really help our team out defensively which is very much needed. Joshua is a big body who dishes out hits,plays physical which were in need of and can score 20. What's not to like ? Cause those arent top line , top dmen??

Fabbri got some reps playing top 6 and PP1 to hit those 19 goals, and his shooting% was astronomical when he came back from injury.

Based on who is under contract or in our system as an RFA/ prospect, he could likely slot as high a 2nd line winger. If Lalonde is sticking with DeBrincat - Larkin - Raymond then the 2nd line is likely something like:

Fabbri - Compher - Berggren/ Perron (most likely guy to come back?)

Fabbri is a fine 2LW if your 2C is someone like Draisaitl, but we don't have the depth to make him work as an everyday top 6 winger IMO. Even if its Kane on the other wing, that isn't enough of a 2nd line IMO. Now, Yzerman might decide differently and run him back and not upgrade the wing depth this summer. But if we're going shopping this July, it seems to strike a lot of us that spending $4M for Fabbri to play bottom 6 is a bit pricey. I personally would rather trade him for something reasonable like a 3rd round pick(?) and use that added cap space to sign a player who actually is worth $4M (or more) and who is a top 6 calibre guy in a vacuum, not just in the cirumstance that he is playing on our "still getting better" quality team.

Saying all that, I like the person a lot and I like the player fine too. I just don't think it is the wisest application of $4M and if Yzerman is able to maneuver out of that contract, that is the best scenario IMO.

The team needs to get much better but needs cap and roster spots to do it...

It's certainly possible we fill out an improved roster from internal assets...but that's kinda naive..

Fabbri and Matta are nice people and if we can include them as part of a bigger trade that would be best.. but if no trade materializes and free agency is our route, then cap out for cap in is a must.
