They'll be lucky to hit 35 wins this year. Their points are ballooned by OT losses and their goal differential is right outside the bottom 5.

If demko doesn’t regain Vezina calibre form in the 2nd half they will miss the WC by more than 6 points. That said, if he does, I see no reason that roster can’t beat the freaking Flames.

I remember getting flamed last year when i said they wouldn't be nearly as good as last year in the offseason after they lost all their defensive depth.
They seem like a team that desperately needs a culture change.Why Miller and Peterson are still on the same team at this point is a little ridiculous. The rumours are crazy and there is so much smoke regarding them, they clearly can't get along and seemingly the organization has tried everything to make it work, but they need to bite down, rip off the bandaid and fix the room. Even if it means losing the trade, the GM needs to tell the team it'll be alright and get cracking and put it behind them and start looking forward. I also wonder if they are tuning out the coach and I believe Demkos best days are behind him, his injury history isnt good and knees and the back are important to a goalie.
Hughes seems to be the only bright spot on the team and we are entering "will he stay or will he go" territory when he his contract is up. The GM should be feeling the pressure. It also seems teams balked at the prices they are asking for Miller or Petterson so Carolina went for Rantanen instead. GM might want to get a trade done before the deadline, he is losing partners quickly.
Long way of saying its hard to be optimistic for the outlook of the franchise. How the GM acts in the coming weeks will make or break the Canucks for probably the next decade.

Maybe what the Canucks need is for the players to absolutely hate each other and have the Coach/GM focus that energy on the ice, because that's about the only thing working for them right now.

I never get this getting along with one another though.
Paul Coffey was an outcast in Edmontons locker room. Messier was a party animal. They made it work.
Anderson was a party animal and had a guy die in his pool before game 7

Not everyone is a professional though. Not everyone can be professional. Personalities can clash and sometimes one person just can't be the bigger person. It just shows how stupid the hole situation is and its probably deeper and worse than whats being reported.
Beautiful city. Living cost too expensive. Lot of fair weather fans. Overall I'm a big fan.
If I’m being perfectly honest, it was the late local journalist in Van named Jason Bothchford who changed the entire landscape of NHL hockey media. The man was funny at times, social media-literate, and obviously quite passionate; but he lived to sensationalize our Sport.
Our Canucks are in a tailspin, but the whole thing is so overblown. We’ve been talking to other teams about Pettersson and Miller for literal years. They’re just players… any good GM should be open to making bold moves.
I also personally believe Vancouver will make the playoffs, regardless of the trades they make in-season. Quinn Hughes is simply that good.

The 80s Oilers probably benefitted from having a pretty good number one center. Allowed Mess to be Mess and all the rest.

I dont really have an affinity for them, its a little bit before my time. I was 4 when the Oilers last won the cup. I've seen plenty of games from the 80s and before and quite frankly i think if i was around back then i wouldnt be hockey fan, i dont appreciate 80s hockey and style of equipment. What drew me to hockey as a kid was the cool goalie gear in the 90s.

I'm old, they were a great team. Kurri was one of my favorite players as a kid.
