What did you want Seattle's NHL team to be named?

For me, I wanted it to be the Scorpions so badly. It's very due for a pro sports brand.
Sounds dumb and random, but I wanted it to be like the Yin/Yang match for the same place the SuperSonics will play in the day they return.
A shutout is known as a flawless victory. A goal in OT is also known as a fatality.
They'll mostly play Scorpions songs throughout the games.
Goalies do scorpion saves!
Score-pions!
The colors I think would be Coral & Emerald.
Can't spell Scorpions without Sonics!

It should have been the Seattle quad long shot grande in a venti cup half calf double cupped no sleeve salted caramel mocha latte with 2 pumps of vanilla substitute 2 pumps of white chocolate mocha for mocha and substitute 2 pumps of hazelnut for toffee nut half whole milk and half breve with no whipped cream extra hot extra foam extra caramel drizzle extra salt add a scoop of vanilla bean powder with light ice well stirred team

But Kraken is fine …… :sarcasm:

New York's National League baseball team would shake their heads.
Unless they've trademarked Metropolitan, it shouldn't have been an issue. What's more, does someone still own the "Seattle Metropolitan" name? If so, to your point, it would be them shaking their heads at the "Mets".

People refer to the Blue Jays as the Jays. Blue jays themselves come in multiple colours. If I wanted to name a team, in another sport, "the Jays" and use a Green Jay as my logo, unless Toronto has trademarked "Jay", I don't think it would be an infringement.

Metro… is just a bad name for a team.
