I beg to differnce... You can't compare hockey with Football in Sweden... Football has allways and will allways be the bigger sport in Sweden! its our nationalsport.

Well, hasn't hockey had higher attendance than football in some decades, like the 80s? And in some areas, like Karlstad and Jönköping, hockey is definitely a bigger sport than football.

In general, football is of course a bit bigger, but it's not so far ahead.

Well Football has allways dominate Sthlm as far as i know... but that is probably because of the rivality between Hammarby,AIK and Djurgården.

Probably because in this towns there is not any elite team in Allsvenskan... i mean Football is for sure bigger in Kalmar than it is in Jköping? And for not to talk about Göteborg or Malmö the along with Stockholm this towns Football is undisputed number one!

And for an example here in Sundsvall where i live GIF Sundsvall have more people to their games than Timrå IK have.

Let me guess... curling.

I will take Sweden winning both men and women cross country skiing relays in Sochi over bunches of gold medals for "sports" like curling and snowboard-circus.

Especially the winter Olympics become more and more of a circus act with more "sports" added every time, but that doen't mean true sports fans take it seriously.

And Sweden does pretty well in those real sports that are really a treat to watch as actual sports. I don't remember Canada doing well anywhere outside hockey and speed skating.

Canada is one of the best nations in the world when it comes to the winter Olympics. Don't know what you're seeing, because that's our thing. And it's not just limited to hockey and speed skating.

Football clearly outclass hockey... i don't even know where you got your numbers from.

They could be right - but you have to note that in football its home and away once each and 32 game season means like 16 home games.. Versus 60 game hockey season and 30 home games..

And? thats only work in favore for the Ice hockey tbh:laugh:

Then again, soccer stadiums have a significantly higher capacity.

And your point exactely is? Do your really think you can sell out a football Arena in Sweden with hockey:laugh:?
