It feels like the regular season has been a forgone conclusion from Day 1 and the talk about the Leafs and their historic first round exits keeps building and building.

Is it affecting your mood heading into the playoffs as a Leafs fan?

Does it feel like any other year’s playoffs, or different?

Are you thinking “please God just let us get out of the first round and I don’t care what happens after that?”, or do you want or expect more?

Or, do you think all the talk is having a reverse effect, where maybe this team starts conquering its demons, first by making it through the opening round and then by finally besting a Bruins team that looks a little bit unstoppable?

If the leafs find a way to win round 1...it’s my opinion that the floodgates open. At this point, to me it’s mostly a mental block, if they breakthrough that mental aspect..I truly believe they will be VERY difficult to beat. There is lot of pent up frustration that I think is going to carry them in rounds thereafter. There is of course some luck and refs not screwing them over, but I think they’ll have a very good chance to win it all if they can breakthrough round 1.

This is the most stacked team I've ever seen the Leafs have on paper. The only thing I'm worried about is coaching. If the Leafs don't make it this year it's going to be a tough future.

I think Leafs win it all - but i also say that every year so idk

First round of the NHL playoffs are best of any league in my opinion. There are games every night and lots to look forward to.

As of the Leafs I am pumped and super excited to see what this new bottom six can do.

Like I feel every year, anxious and hopeful. I predict nothing, nhl playoffs is skill, hard work, shit calls and luck - good and bad
We'll see, definitely potential for a deep run.

This pretty much sums it up for me.

The anxiety is at an alltime high as they are out of excuses and I am running short on patience.

Sadly no matter the outcome I will be sucked right back into the fray next year.

I just hope they have confidence. I don't want them overthinking their games because of whats happened the past half decade and gripping their sticks too tight. It's a new year, learn from your mistakes, play to YOUR strengths, and dictate the game.

It's a big season for me for Marner and Matthews specifically. I need them to take over games, it's time the floodgates open in the post season boys.

I'm a good mix of excited and nervous, as the past heartbreaks have not fully healed. I'd like at least two rounds won. One round would be a failure in my eyes.

I feel weirdly confident in Woll if it comes down to him in a Matt Murray in Pitt type arc. I think I've watched too many movies.

I like us against Tampa, but still far from confident (and no Leafs fan should be, we know Toronto sports). Boston scares the hell out of me, but I'll say this, we have a chance, and hopefully we perform to the level required to achieve it.

I've been more disengaged with this team the last few months than any other point in my life.

I'm excited for games that actually matter again.

That being said, I fully expect Tampa in 7 unfortunately.

My wife doesn’t want me to watch. This is not nastiness on her part. I have had a spell of serious heart trouble, including the equivalent of a hard reboot with electrical shock. She thinks I get much too upset, especially by unforced giveaways, exiting the D zone. And she is probably right!

I am getting better recently but if things get too tense I will probably take her advice. I’ll leave the TV on and walk in and out of the room but not sit down.
What I need is a a four game Leaf sweep of one-sided games. C’mon boys, help out this longstanding fan!

Keep well, my man. Good to hear you’re on the mend!

Stay strong, it's a heart-stopper even for young healthy fans.
Consult your doctor and mellow down with some weed prior to game start to offset potential upsets!

I can relate. And I am hoping you are well on your way to recovery. 11 cardioversions and one surgery.

I watch it delayed a little, it seems to help me out. lol

Go Leafs Go!
