Go for it.
All in but for the next 3 playoffs.
So all in but not for a singular end of year rental, for a non-impact player.
Go for it.
They have 30+ million in Cap space in the off season they can absolutely keep Marner if they choose to, the question is will they choose to?
They absolutely can.
Don't worry, he won't have $30 million. He will sign Marner and Tavares, and likely Knies, before the season ends.I'm not convinced giving Treliving 30 million in cap to spend is a great thing just yet. Like I said, I think this is our year
Yup, Go get the guy now, even if it might cost a bit more. Also a firm believer if you're going to be a buyer at the deadline, to get you're targeted player as soon as possible, getting them on deadline day is too late for them to adjust to everything.
Toronto should be all in when it comes to trading picks for rentals, and top prospects for players like Minten, Cowan, Danford with 3 to 4 years left on contracts.

Unpopular take of the day.
I would never be all in. Hate selling futures for rentals.
Florida made the Cup final in 2023.
They made zero deadline deals.
Beat Boston first round who went scorched earth all in.
As a fan I don't want to sell valuable future assets for a 1 in 16 lottery ticket and suffer for years after.
I was a big Raps fan, they went all in and won. Now I could care less if they cancelled their season or not.
I enjoy watching the Leafs, excited every playoff. I wouldn't want them to be chasing a lottery pick 3 years from now and irrelevant.
At the minimum I want Schenn and O Rielly back (last time we won series).Very aggressive.
Hopefully for players we can keep around.
My campaign to bring back Luke Schenn for a third go around begins now.
The core have never shown that they can do it in the playoffs.Very aggressive. All in.
Trade a first pick AND a prospect if you are getting help.
With the conference the way its playing out, this year might be the best look they have at going deep in the past decade.
Nylander is 29 during the playoffs this year, Marner 28, Matthews 27, and Tavares 34. I want to give this core help NOW, I don't want to hold onto picks or prospects that won't help these guys out until they are all 30 or older.
