KH needs to stop being a bad GM and take bad reclamation projects as if we were gonna fix them. Wake up. Dach had Kane all of his time in Chicago (past his prime yes, but still an incredible PP player) and Newhook had all the chances in the world to be a complimentary guy to three top 15 hockey players in the world and still couldn't do it. Acquire Matheson who has never been past the first round and has been killing this team sacrificing defense to maintain the illusion that he's a 50-60 pt offensive dynamo. Keep Slafkovsky on the team as an 18 year old while he's barely a midget AAA level skater (no seriously, his speed isn't terrible but his instincts and his skating technique is god awful).

We are clamoring for MSL's head while he's not even the cause for all of this stuff. The team KH built is not only bad but also filled with players that are content with being on a bad team if it boosts their point production by 10.

I've always said, be very wary of WHL players, they are risky and the stats are inflated. Very very very few have careers that translate, very few. On the D side, it seems fine, but forward.. tread with caution. I'm glad they never drafted Catton, and Iggy Jr isn't like his dad. If Demidov wasn't there I would have grabbed either or, but I would have crossed my fingers.

Dach was a putz in the W

Newhook - BCHL drafted , even worse

Pezz sits every night while guys keep getting ice time and PP time. Why isn’t Dach sitting?

No accountability at all.
Bro are you f***ing serious? You're gonna bring Pezz as the savior to this f***ing garbage team?

We are bottom of the league because that's where we belong. We have not talend at forward, and goalies are trash. And the dman are poorly coached, at best.

f***ing Pezzetta ain't gonna change shit lmao

If you read between the lines during Marty’s press conference, he sounds like he’s exhausted all options. Again, great hockey mine but but he just can’t seem to put it all together. Jim Montgomery would look great behind the bench but my guess is Pittsburgh will try to pick him up. Oh well as Kent says …..View attachment 934878
Give me a f***ing break with MSL and Montgomery. Roster is trash, the end. We're in the middle of a rebuilt

I will never pay money to watch hockey live or on television.
The product is boring despite high level of skills.
No. The Habs are. Have been for 25+ years, mostly.

That being said, if you look at the roster, CC is supposed to be an elite sniper, Suzuki an elite two way center, Slaf a power forward superstar 1OA in his D+3 and already signed to a 7m contract.
He's not. He's a 1st OA in a very bad draft. He's a 2nd line power forward who needs the right environment to succeed. And needs to put in tons of effort.

I don t know any 1OA whose stock has decreased as much as much as Slafs. The excuse of the bad draft does not work.He was sold as a unicorn already leading his country as a 16 year old. That should not be a second liner.

I don't think he's a powerforward and he doesn't play like a power forward - so I don't think he thinks he is a power forward. The fact that he doesn't consistently put in "tons of effort" also doesn't help. He's a skill player in a big frame who needs to improve his mental approach. I was 100% wrong that he couldn't develop in the NHL, he could and he did, so he just has to continue improving. I'm sure he can be a first line talent. Beyond that, not so sure.

Hockey historians rarely follow the careers of 2nd line talents...

No one cares
They have learned how to play with structure. We saw it against the Oilers, but last night, there was plenty of cheating, lazy habits, etc. I don't blame MSL for this one. These are highly paid athletes, and there has to be accountability for bad habits, and no coach can fix that.

Plenty of teams sleepwalk after a long layoff, so it might have been expected. However, there are some on the roster who aren't living up to expectations, and there really isn't any point in naming them; we all can see it.

Slaf absolutely can become that unicorn player, but he has to actually become that player. Not there yet, not close either. I do worry that the big fat contract might remove some of the motivation to achieve it. But we'll see.

managed to catch the third period tonight, and didn't mind how we played for that period...mind you Vegas took the foot off the gas a bit.

I'm starting to sour on MSL and I wish I wasn't.
A lot.
Did you see how pissed Cassidy was even leading 5-2.

It’s not about saving this garbage team. It’s about accountability.

First 40 minutes out chanced, out shot & out played…..at home?

This team is exhausting……I’m truly just looking for a competitive compete level! We were more competitive last year?

So if the talent can’t be improved, the work ethic should be the focus???

The Oilers prefer a skating a game to a physical game which suits us fine.

I watched the play between the blue lines very closely last evening.
One team was able to continually turn pucks over and snuff out plays before they could develop.
The press forced us to expend too much energy trying to get the puck back.

That second period was horrendous we had a hard time getting the puck beyond the center red line.
So many fly by's on pucks gutless is what it was.

Savard standing still waiting for an opening to try a bomb ending up in an icing instead of taking the ice he's being given before attempting a play.
Struble five feet away from a streaking Suzuki not getting him the puck in motion instead carrying it out himself and slowing the entire attack down.

He did manage to gain the line for a dump and change which was all he seemed interested in.
I don't know what the coach is going to do but the team looked like a bunch of completely disjointed individuals.

Suzuki can't play his game when his wingers aren't moving their feet it's hard to slow the game down when you are already going slow.
I suggested Newhook more than a week ago as a possible solution and the minute they tried it the game picked up.

They also have to get rid of the right handedness on PP1 Newhook needs to play the bumper/retriever role Dach can sit.
It's not normal that our second wave is far more dynamic up front. That first wave was far better last season for decent stretches using Newhook.

There was so much to hate about that game other than the Habs just being flat.

Slaf needs that training dude from two off seasons ago to show up with those magic glasses so he can start learning to react in NHL time again. :help:

At least Darch and Slackofsky know why they got demoted and recognize the problems.
Slaf has always known what his problems are (it's mental). The fact that he only managed to "deal with it" in like 3 games since the season started is the actual problem. He knows what is going on, but he can't get pass it/deal with it on a constant basis.

I'm starting ot think that the Habs sport psychologist is an incompetent. Half the team is an headcase at this point.

Renaud Lavoie is right, we should bring Roy back up. At least we know the guy has some hockey sense.

Right now it's almost pointless, we are f***ing done already.

BUT Roy should have started the season in Montreal. Our preseason was a mess and you could not really base your decision on it to make your final lineup. We needed Roy on the top 6, especially after Laine got injured. It's just bad coaching. Also ABB played 2 f***ing games (1 really good and 1 not so good) and he was burried in the AHL. Sheesh that's a short leash. This team is managed by clowns.

It’s the culture not the individual players.

A lot.

Our team culture is in the pits. MSL seems to think every player has an inner drive at max levels like he does. He’s not been able to coax and seduce them to play up — and his abysmal in game tactics surely don’t inspire confidence either.

We don’t have leaders. We don’t have culture. We don’t have coaching.

A listless team.

I'm starting to think there must be beef in the locker room, I've never seen an entire team regress and forget how to play hockey.
