I hate that play by tt but he's been responsible for some 3v3 ot wins also.....basically when he's on the ice the game will end one way or the orher.

We needed hainsodoggo to take us to ot victory.

For some reason, the Bone Thugz-N-Harmony song "I Try" just pops into my mind.

We try so hard to get out of the purgatory that is constantly finishing in the 9-12 seed range, but can never escape it.

I didn't watch the game but I have the NHL app which tells me when a team scores. I've come to expect the ding and notification when the 2.5 hour mark comes up. Never fails to disappoint

Canes have 4 OT wins and 13 OT losses this season. If we could win around 50% of our OT games we are 0-1 pts out of a playoff spot this season...

I ****ing hate this team and how predictable they are. More loser points to guarantee neither the playoffs or a top pick.

Also to add I don't think it's the players fault for these OT losses. I think it's Peters fault. He's the same coach that thought putting 2 defenders on an offensive zone faceoff during 3 on 3 would somehow win you the game? But that was a while back.

This team fails to aggressively play in 3 on 3. Teams are going to get scoring chances no matter what, so why don't you try and create your own. Stop worrying about giving up an odd man rush and worry about creating your own. The Canes always seem so worried in OT to lose the puck and they fail to create their own scoring opportunities. I gotta put that on coaching, the Canes could definitely utilize a different strategy in OT.

They are bad at 3 on 3 for the same reason they are bad at 5 on 5. They lack scoring ability and their goaltending is below average. That's only magnified, by the fact that there are less players on the ice.

They're a .500 team 5 on 5, they're a .230 team come OT. I think they are actually an okay 5 on 5 team, the team is talented enough to win 50% of their OT games. I personally just think the strategy Peters implements in OT is what is killing them.

3-on-3 leaves more open ice, which leaves skilled players more room to do things that skilled players do. Canes have few skilled players, and those they do have aren't exactly known for their puck possession abilities (a rather important aspect of 3-on-3 OT).

I mean, Skinner and TT are dangerous players with open ice, but at the same time, they're the ones most likely to try a move, get completely stuffed, and cause a 3-on-1 the other way.

Coaches don't have anything to do with 3 v 3 other than who they put out there. It's where the skill level shows, and where ours shows to not be up to the task. I hated Peter's for the two dmen but he's finally knocked that off.

This isn't on Peter's other than choosing the trios.
