Ahhh such a nice train ride! Fans reveling on Edison street still as I left. Don't know if you could hear it on T.V but, chants of "we want Timo" could be heard from section 231 where I was sitting. Suprised how many Flyers fans showed up. They were good sports tonight from what I saw and experienced.

Just got home, first game in about 4 years...what a game. Couple things I noticed:

- Haula talks to the ref literally every stoppage. Its kind of weird.
- Nico does SO many little things that I never even noticed before. Stick positioning, board positioning, etc just such small things that sometimes go unnoticed.
- seeing JAck's speed in person is something else
- how about offensive juggernaut SIEGS!?
- 4th line was great tonight
- Philly is REALLY bad. They gave up in the third period.

It's definitely the glasses!

I see it though.

I can't really imagine him doing some of the things Michael Douglas did in that movie though. Like assaulting a store owner for not selling him a can of soda for 50 cents, fending off two gang members with a baseball bat, then somehow eluding all of their gunfire at him and then stealing all their guns, taking a fast food restaurant hostage for being 5 minutes too late for breakfast, killing a nazi store owner, nuking a road construction site or giving an old man a heart attack on a golf course.

That's seriously one of my favorite movies ever. It's hilarious! And there's so many emotional swings in the movie that make you wanna like the guy and sympathize with him, but he's also too big of a piece of shit (though very mentally disturbed) to really like him too much.

I actually constantly quote that movie and have done so on here frequently.
Yes!

Again, no. We’re contenders now. The window is open. Bratt makes us a better team next season regardless of the length of his deal.
There's no way Fitz keeps Bratt if he doesn't sign long-term next summer. You can't lose a top winger in his prime like Bratt for nothing, you just can't.

How many does Hannu Kamppuri have?:sarcasm:

My friend that I've brought up before (Carey Price looking guy built like Jagr) just now in the other thread is a big fan of Hannu, who played for the Devils when he was 1-2 years old.

He has an extremely random picture of Hannu as a Devil on his wall at his house and has had this picture on his bedroom walls since he was a kid, along with some other players, but Hannu Kamppuri is easily the most random guy on there.

He claims the first game he ever watched featured Hannu Kamppuri in net for the Devils. His memory is even better than mine ever was to be able to watch a guy that last played a game with the Devils/in North America before his second birthday.

He says his memory of it isn't strong, but that he heard the name and kept saying Hannu as a little kid and his parents knew he was fond of this player.

He's said that before he dies he really needs to scour the world for Hannu Kamppuri to get him to sign the picture.

He's probably the biggest fan of Hannu Kamppuri on this side of Finland. He used to pretend to be Finnish and tell people he was of Finnish descent when he was a little kid because of Hannu Kamppuri. He even gave himself a Finnish variation/alias of his name. In recent years he took a couple of the DNA tests, which came back a small percentage of Finnish and he was really excited. He's PUMPED about that and even tries to speak with a Finnish accent.
I am forever a fan of Finland. Bought a Janne Ojanen game worn jersey from 1992-93 and have friends in Finland because of it. Wore it to a metal concert at Asbury Parks convention hall and a young couple from Finland (wife was a 10) it got there attention and struck up a conversation. They lived in Oldbridge at the time and took a cab to Asbury. I offered to be there taxi well be Uber. Yeah still keep in touch and need to get my passport renewed so I can take a trip to "Funland". I hate when names get butchered. You Finns on here know the ones I'm talking about.

I need the Torts presser…and Flyers YT obliges

It’s almost like he’s softened is his old age lol. I know he’s had some tame pressers like that this year, perhaps because he knows he’s coaching a team that’s very challenged and just not nearly as good as what he’s used to in his career.

He doesn’t even get that snippy or irritated with the reporters, except for the one lady in the last 30 seconds, but he quickly changes his tone back to rational and mellow lol.

It was also nice to see Schmid show good rebound control and good puck handling skills.

Something Mac still struggles with.
Definitely should be the backup next year, he's earned it.
Sometimes I think he may have better rebound control because he’s used to playing fairly frequently, whereas Blackwood absolutely isn’t used to that this year.

And yes, I’d rather have a cheap backup like him than spend more money on a goalie that really isn’t much of an upgrade, if even an upgrade. Even if Schmid isn’t good next year, he’ll be not good while making under a million, whereas Blackwood will be not good making over $3 million and not being able to go 5-6 weeks without getting some kind of an injury.

Even if he takes less than his qualifying offer, I can’t at all see him taking something as cheap as what we’ll pay Schmid. He can make more than that as a UFA on a one year deal.

I just hope it’s not another Miles Wood situation, where they feel they have to keep him because he has one more year left of team rights. And then we’re wondering what we’re gonna do for cap space at the deadline, because we had to go out and bring back a goalie that mightily struggles to stay above .900% for three straight years and can’t go 6 weeks without hurting something.
