Holzer + Fraser vs Komisarek + Franson

IMO I think Nonis and Carlyle are figuring out who they want and the same time showcasing the D-men they have for a possible trade. Teams are desperate for defensemen and the Leafs have a bundle of them. L.A. is in dire need of a stay home D man and a possible trade for Bernier could be in the works. Detroit needs help too but I dont know who they would give up, Detroit is getting old and they need to get some of the youth they have into the line up soon. Washington and Philly need help watching them tonite its evident they need a solid stay home player.
 
I would have to pick the pair that we won the game with, even though it wasn't the other pairs fault that we lost that game.
 
How many D do we need? We have 9 including Gardiner. They need to figure this out. Franson did not deserve to sit. Kulemin and Liles deserve to sit ASAP. Fraser certainly lacks foot speed. Komisarek didnt play bad in game #1. I understand they needed to get looks at Holzer and Fraser. Holzer looked scared. IVe seen enough. Kostka is very impressive early on. Gunnarsson hopefully will be seen for what he is. I think he is extremely over-rated. Far too soft.
 
Franson looked good in game #1. I feel him and Kadri were over-looked last year out of all the prospects. Kadri is gaining steam. Franson I hope is given the chance. His snap shot is a weapon.
 
Not that Holzer and Fraser necessarily played bad, but I prefer Franson and Komisarek.

In all honesty, I think that first game against Montreal was the best game of hockey I've seen Komisarek play in a Leafs uniform. No joke.

He could've passed as a top pairing DFD that game. Guy made no mistakes at all iirc.

Komi receives a lot of flack, but at 2ish mil he's a great asset.

LA is in dire need of a stay at home defenseman? That must be surprising news to Willie Mitchell and Rob Scuderi.
 
With Gardiner returning to the lineup, we'll need a spot for him. Won't Holzer and Fraser both have to clear waivers? Ideally we should trade one of them real soon.

I think I'd like to see this going forward

Keep Holzer, send Fraser down, trade one of and (healthy scratch the other) Franson and Komisarek. There's also the issue that someone will steal Kostka when Gardiner replaces him and he gets sent back down.

So many defenseman!

I don't think Kostka or Holzer are going anywhere. Fraser could be on the move and I'd like to see Komi dealt, while Franson rotates with Korbi in and out of the lineup until one of them proves their worth. I really don't think Carlyle likes Franson though so I wouldn't be surprised if we see Holzer stick even when Gardiner comes back.

Holzer and Franson. Fraser should be an extra D-man to play as an enforcer depending on which team we play. I know Komi played solid last game but I'd like more of a change from last year.

Franson deserves to play every minute right now. Komi is playing his best right now so i rather see us keep him for longer. Deal him at deadline if anyone bites. Fraser is the weakest out of the whole crop and looked a bit out of place in the loss against buffalo.
