Sorry if They where able to sign the Sedins and then Vancouver should of got way more then what they got.

So I veto these trade in a heart beat. Those not make sense. Like cmon.

Why am I not surprised to see you veto?

They got a top 5 pick in the 2009 draft.

Also, a legit defensive prospect, and a 3rd in a deep draft which Vancouver will try to trade to improve to a second round pick.

Fedro, I went into detail justifying this trade in my press release. Vancouver is not gunning for the cup this year. Perhaps in a year or three when Hodgson is playing with MSP, Duchene or Kane on our top line. I, acting as a proxy to Mike Gillis, do not believe the Sedins are who I want to build my team around. I will also be making a splash in free agency. The trade is perfectly fine.

you shoulda went for it.. mats and demitra will be gone and so are the sedins.... hodg and one of those youngsters are still at least 3 years away before they make a big impact..luongo dosent have forever.. he might just leave for a better chance to win ... and you traded away schnieder... it is a pretty bad trade for the knucks imo aswell.. but im sick of all the veto complaining lately so if their fine with it whatev's..

Yeah, looks like VAN has given up on the playoffs, enthropi rejoices!

PS: that's why the trade makes no sense...

Come to think of it, this is more suited as a draft day trade rather than a deadline day trade. It kind of skipped my mind that this was not draft only. I still think I have a 2nd round playoff team.

Kesler(1.75)-Sundin(5.363)-Demitra-(4.0)
Burrows(0.483)-Richards(1.68)-Grabner(0.18)
Pyatt(1.575)-Pahlsson(0.3)-Bernier(2.5)
Hordichuk(0.775)-Johnson(1.150)-Hansen(0.508)

extras: Rypien

Mitchell(3.5)-Salo(3.5)
Ohlund(3.5)-Edler(0.550)
O'Brien(0.950)-Lee(0.274)

Luongo(6.75)
LaBarbara(0.825)

What?

My point is that it was a fair trade. I was not arguing for myself, I was saying that I did give some value back to the Canucks for the twins.

So I really don't see the point in what you wrote.

A first....ONE first, and a prospect D-man not in the NHL for two 80 + point players on 3.5 million contracts...UFA yes, but...really?

I won't put a veto out, because he instigated the trade, so a salary dump was what he was going for clearly.

the trade is lopsided, no doubt, but not veto worthy. let it stand guys, both GM's involved like the trade and have agreed on it. that should be the deciding factor IMO.

But it won't be a top5 pick with the lineup you're icing... jeebus, you went from mediocre depth as having Vermette as your 2nd line C to him being pushed to the 4th line, having a legit franchise Dman where you only had Kuba before. And a goalie.

If the VAN GM is expecting a top 5 pick, he'll be disappointed...

Oh and Evander Kane is NOT Patrick Kane...
