I'll take any pick we can get for him at this point
I love it, trade him to Arizona just before we play them twice.
I will take a 7th with the condition Holland needs to break gretzkys goal scoring record 92 goals or no pick

Might as well put him on waivers if that were the case. I'm assuming Lou held out for some kind of realistic chance that he wasn't given away for nothing. Even if it's just a 7th conditional on getting 10 goals.
Or Colorado. These are all good situations.
no idea what holland's value is. assuming 0
looking at teams that are close to the cap that could add value
Vancouver, worst team and highest cap, wtf
- they'll need cap space to facilitate deals to rebuild
- Sbisa makes 3.6 cap hit, so saves them just over 2 million
- he could be a solid addition under babs.
- van adds a prospect or pick
Washington
- Orlov might be an intriguing add. leafs would probably have to sweeten
- he's relatively young, talented but hasn't really taken that next step
- clears up around a million for them
- leafs could also take on beagle which saves them another 1.75 for next couple of years
- they also have Brett Connolly, former top pick that hasn't been able to stick anywhere. fwd for fwd of two guys that maybe need a change
Philly
- has a bunch of D and no cap space.
- Del Zotto has a 3.875 cap hit, Streit 4, and one of the worst in the NHl MacDonald at 5 for 3 more years (that would cost a lot to take on) but leafs could make it work with a lot of current roster players still on ELC
Colorado
- still not working so they'll probably need to start looking at making big changes. will need cap flexibility to do that
- Tyson Barrie would be an interesting target, 5 mill cap hit and would need a + or 2 from the leafs to make it work. and most likely valuable pieces too
- Otherwise cap moves, Comeau at 2.4, Beauchemin at 4.5,
you know on waiver IF no one claims him contract still counts against the 50 limit if it is nothing but a conditional pick it is a way for Arizpna to jump the que in waivers and we lose a contract
If you talk with Arizona and they want him then you assume they would have also claimed him on waivers too. If a team proposes a trade where you're guaranteed to get nothing(conditional 7th with unrealistic conditions), might as well put him on waivers(where at least you get waiver claim money in return I think?), and if he goes unclaimed(which he won't because Arizona wants him), revisit the give away for free trade.
If they want to jump the queue(which would literally mean nothing since Arizona is 1st in line right now) they need to pay something for it, even if it's a conditional 7th on 15 goal condition(still rather unrealistic).
so you are saying in the tradition of former leafs 10 points in 2 games for holland

Sure as long as the conditional picks gets better
I'm still not sure how Leivo gets in the lineup unfortunately. He'll get on the roster. But Babcock has been saying for a little while in this Nylander discussion we have 7 guys for 6 top 9 wing spots so 1 gets stuck on the 4th line. The other 4th line winger is Martin who will play.
Leivo will get on the roster but still likely a healthy scratch until someone gets hurt. Either that or Smith comes out, Nylander to 4C and Leivo to 4W
he is traded to Arizona isn't he?
He is. I posted before I knew they traded him.
