#5 & 6 are too close to separate. Top-6 get in.

Not surprisingly, only two players got votes in the top two.

I'm curious on the Cleghorn > Lalonde. It's an interesting placement, and I'd love a rationale. The more we talked the more I was convinced that Cleghorn is more the consensus number one defenseman than Vezina was goalie.

I'm curious about the NR vote for Bowie, as it means at least one person had one of Stuart or Phillips from the same era ahead of him, which I really can't see.

I think Bowie is clearly ahead, but the argument for Tommy Phillips is that he was much more prolific in the Cup challenges than Bowie was.
Stuart vs Bowie? I don't know, but maybe they were both NR'd.

I think we are now officially done the "easy" part of the project. A lot of consensus in this round (4 guys were on every list, over half of ballots had Malone/Gerard as 1/2, Dye nearly completely shut out) but I think it's the last time we'll see it this cut-and-dried.

Look at those gaps from 1 to 2 to 3, to 4, to 5, to 6. No question about the conclusion the group came to. I think it gets much tighter from here on.

Top-4 get in, to give us an easy 10. Six more into the discussion hopper for this week.

The huge spreads in voting is expected with this project. But I certainly wasn't expecting votes for Phillips at both 2 and NR.

I didn't expect to be the second highest vote for Lehman.

I agree that we're past the easy part. The lists for the first two rounds very closely mirrored my personal list, but it's a lot more spread out now that we've seen the third list. I've got a feeling we're really going to start seeing votes all over the place from here on out.

Man when I look the ballot I submitted and the aggregate I'm all over the place.

I think many of us were all over the place. I probably made about 200 edits and tweaks to my top-80 ballot and I’m not exaggerating. And looking at it again, I’d change my mind again on a few placements since submitting it.

It's a bit surprising Fredrickson went that much higher than MacKay and Keats, when they all ranked so close to each other in the centers project. But I guess Frank had his vocal supporters, and those of us who would vote for the other two as just as high were away.

I mean when each round's aggregrate comes out

I was very high on the 3 Franks relative to the group

One of the reasons I'm not in as a voter. Didn't feel I could honestly rate 80 players deep, and didn't have the time to get to that depth.

Surprised Fredrickson got that much love, not that I complain. I had him high too.

I see him as the Ryan Getzlaf of pre-consolidation. A big guy who can excel against other top centers.

That's fair...if Getzlaf was also almost always the best skater on the ice.

That's kinda a thing with Fredrickson tho.

We could have held on for this other set of votes but it was highly unlikely to make a difference.
