Basically the best squad available, minus forwards Nestrasil and Frolo. Not sure what the issue here is, but I assume the coach simply wanted to have some high energy smallish players on the team in Fasner and Samal. The forward core is so deep good players had to be left out no matter what. Czech nomination. I would say not very suprising and most of the big names are there including Mrtka, Benak and Novotny ... team looking really good on paper .. but that U18 before WCH looked good too lol and we all know what happened

He looks like a solid prospect for 26 draft .. already have 16 games in Slovak league with men, now going to Swedish U20 .. so definitely interesting prospect we got there .. good news

Regarding Nestrasil and Frolo, i was already thinking too.. Perhaps there are no other circumstances involved. Maybe it will simply be that the other nominated players are more defensive. I really have no idea, but as you write, maybe both will get a chance another time.
Highly doubt that the 07 group is more top heavy than the 06 one. My favourite prospect is probably Birchler. I have only seen one bad game from him for the junior national teams. In addition to that some solid ones and a few ones where he really stood on his head. Has great height for a goaltender too. Not sure if I would put him ahead of Neuenschwander/Lachat though at this point. To early to say. The Ivan Hlinka might be a good indicator for questions like that. Liked Trachsel too but only have seen him in a couple of games.
That's a good point. The 08 forward group is very deep. Many of them are already better than half of the 07 forwards selected. Also, in the U17 elite league, 08 born Niccolo Castiglioni led defensemen in scoring. Since the 07 birth year isn't very strong overall it would make sense to select underagers for international tournaments. It can still happen for the Hlinka Gretzky because the U17 team is holding a separate summer camp in Davos but I think if that was the plan those players would have been with the U18 instead of the U17 team. Surprisingly, both Pascal Schürmann and Nolan Rohrbach were left off the U17 summer camp. Not sure what to make of this.
Ok i misread your post. I thought this was already the definitive IH roster. I still doubt any of the 08 born forwards is gonna make the team though. I mean two years ago no 06 born player made the team either despite the fact that 05 was a weaker birth year too. Not even Ustinkov or Muggli. Maybe it will be different under Schöb this year but I am not holding my breath.
