if this is a reflection of the fan base as a whole, probably not a good thing, as it means that complacency might be setting in again and interest declining overall.

The way things are with this team losing all the time amongst other factors, ownership better hope they haven't drowned out their fanbase again with yet another game 7 loss and just one win in 20 years.

Remember this happened about 10 years ago when for the first time in many decades they weren't selling out home games as they were before... that's when ownership got off their @sses and scrambled to hire Babcock and make other changes to earn the fanbase back again

Seems like there's less attention here tonight.

After games 1-4 I was extremely angry.
Then seeing how guys like Domi, Knies, Edmundson, Benoit, etc. played in 5,6,7 I was impressed and saw the blue collar team I’ve been waiting 10 years for.

Now with the loss I’m just numb expecting the same tired lip service, run it back and Marner 13 million incoming contract.

I don’t think I can take more of the core slipping into the next salary stratosphere with the same old results.

Exactly my thoughts. Sammy kept the Leafs in the game and made some big saves. He showed up when he was needed most.

Agreed to a certain degree. Sammy can’t give up the tying goal 2 minutes after we score. That can’t happen. I don’t blame him for the OT goal, but the game tying goal was so deflating.

My optimism immediately turned into dread when news started coming out. Matthews in for Woll just isn't a proportional trade off with how Woll was performing and Matthews history in Game 7s.

I think multiple things can be true

Samsonov let in a shit ass first goal, it’s the third time he’s let in a goal that gave Boston all the momentum. The Frederic goal, the Marchand GWG and now this. Woll would’ve stopped all of them.

And then on the pastrnak goal, he watches the puck go by him and forgets goalies have sticks

This entire season, Samsonov has made me not like goaltenders, almost everytime he played he was positionally flawed and just awful

However woll is way too injury prone to lean anything on him. I can’t see much more than a backup from him, he breaks down way too easily

Having all that said the offence is completely f***ing unacceptable. Nylander scored every one of our goals in the last 2 games. Where was the 70 goal man? Where was the “engine” of the team? Where was the captain? Where was the “true leader” Rielly? Where was the depth?

1/21 or whatever is completely unacceptable, and should have Marner moved for that alone and the entire coaching staff sacked

We pay 40+m in forwards and couldn’t score more than 2 goals a game this series

It’s honestly harder being a fan of this team sv a player, you get mocked for fun and free. At least those guys get the big bucks to no show

I have coached at very high levels including kids who are now NHLers so do us all a favor and get off of your little horsey. I don't know why I am even entertaining your nonsense tbh.

It should also be pointed out that most coaches including AAA are absolute jokes as far as hockey knowledge is concerned. You are clearly an example of this as blaming the goaltender when Reilly let Pastrnak blow past him and go in all alone untouched. Samsonov would have had to make a split second decision to go after that puck and it is simply a play that very few goalies would be able to succesfully make. But please do tell how often you had to deal with elite, pre-set plays like that one lol.

Any coach who has half a clue does not blame the goaltender as the reason that this goal was scored. I will be speaking with a buddy who was a former NHL goaltender tomorrow and I guarantee you that he will disagree with you......perhaps you should have coached him lol.

Alright... I am also stepping in here.. there is blame to go around as well as a tip of the cap to the Bruins for that set tap back play and angled cross corner.. That is a soccer style play where you draw people up and then run in behind. More awareness from Marner and Rielly could have made an impact.. but you cannot be sure what another goaltender might do seeing the angle of the puck and speed of Pasta. As it's coming out I'm saying "where is Samsonov" It's not right in his crease but if you are ready and see the speeds of Pasta and Rielly relative to each other .. you can get that puck right off the bounce and fire it off the wall strong side.

So to say Samsonov is not at all responsible is a step too far.

you just watched Tavares play for 6 years and can't think of any ? he's been in the league for 15yrs and has had exactly one good playoff series and none with us

he's been much worse the than Marner and is an anchor to whoever his line mates are
