My best friend goes to Crow's Nest. The Alexisonfire bassist works there and does my friends hair/beard.

 I almost went here. It was recommended to me when I was looking for a new barber late last year but I wanted someone closer to my work.

I can't speak for the Parkdale location (but I think the people work both locations) but they have really, really good guys. I've brought a total of 5 people there or recommended it and all have gone back at least once. Even suggested it to a friend and he brought me and the rest of his Groomsmen there before the wedding.

Top quality work. Can buy a beer or whisky. Drink while you're getting the cut...watch hockey....read old playboys.

I've now gone to book an appointment and the guy I've been going to for years no longer works there...

and doesnt have social media...so I can't find out where he's at now.

This has legitimately broken my heart.

Well, you COULD just go in for a cut and then ask around, I reckon somebody there has to know where he ended up.

I messaged the shop and they said they let him go (he was always booked so who knows what inappropriate shit they did) and when I asked if there was somewhere I could reach him they suggested a couple new people who are available to cut my hair.

So....boo.

Welcome to the “lost my barber and my heart is broken” club.

I’ll never forget my last haircut where he dropped the news on me and I said “sick, for how long you going?” And he said “forever, I’m moving.” The feels I had the rest of my haircut.

Luckily he has social media so when I go to Greece I’ll probably contact him.

I feel the above - my barber since I moved to TO literally fell off the face of the earth last year. I went to his shop and it was boarded up and his phone lines were cut. The place was never busy despite being in a very bumping area which makes me think it was actually a front for illegal activity and he skipped town back to Hong Kong.

I just got a haircut today as well. You never feel more confident about yourself than after a haircut.

Update: I've found a Facebook page that looks like it was abandoned years ago. I sent a message. No response yet.

I also tried to tell the shop he owes me money and would like to reach him. They read the message 23 minutes ago with no response.

You mean you lied, to try and coerce an answer out of them?!

Or does he actually owe you money?

I hope it’s option a, because that would be awesome

It'd make for a funny story, especially if anyone that still works there happened to see that post, and then reach out to the guy to tell him some former customer is looking to "settle a debt".

Just saying it might be counter-productive.

Full blown lie.

I wasn't getting anywhere and they kept suggesting replacement barbers who had space so I took a hail Mary to try and get something useful from them.

No luck.

I sent it privately over Facebook so I don't think it could go badly...unless whoever is running the Facebook page still keeps in contact with him but if he did I don't think they would be this against giving me his info.

normally I'd laugh at Paris' attempt to get a hold of his barber, but I know the feel of losing your regular barber so I can't blame him, even if it is funny LOL

Ah.

Next time just say you're actually his half-brother, or that he gave you up for adoption when you were born and you're trying to track him down.

I don't know how old he is but whichever one makes sense.

I mean I'm linking up with my barber when I end up going to Greece (he'll come from Lebanon there) so I don't blame you lol.

GUYS I FOUND HIM.

I went to the shop's Instagram page...they'd obviously unfollowed him and vice versa (assuming they did at some point) and scrolled to old photos...couldn't find many he was in..there was no tags...but I scrolled through all the likes until I found one of the 395 likers with his first name. I sent a message and boom. He just got back to me and voila.

I found my guy.

no shave, trim, shape, fade

I just got a haircut like a week ago, me going in for a beard trim with no haircut. DO NOT LIKE. I can grow a beard crazy fast plus were gonna get a warmup in the weather. I think it might be time! I also never go "full babyface" with a shave because I feel just absolutely weird that way.
