I don’t imagine we’ll get through all 7 rounds by Thursday. You know how this goes.
Let me put in another way

I get back to Cardiff late Thursday, Friday I take a train back to London and Saturday a train from London to Scotland. I am on my phone and do not have my computer with me

We’ll need a couple more volunteers for second teams and then see if we can light this candle.

I’ll be back from Europe next Saturday. I’ll take a second team if there are still teams remaining that don’t draft in the first round.

We are 4 managers away, either new managers or those who want to take a second team…would love to start this at 7 am tomorrow morning…reach out to anyone you think might be interested..

Anyone asking for a second team will be assigned via random name generator once we have enough.

Really don’t want to see anyone drafting for 3 teams if at all possible.

Preference will be given to new managers over multiple team managers.

I have never done that but I am willing to give it a spin.

Not picky with the team choice. Philadelphia Detroit Islanders? Just don't give me Columbus Arizona or Toronto or I might screw up purposely ;)

Also would anyone be kind enough to share some pointers for someone that never done mock drafts?

There are many lists available to the public that go at least 100 prospects deep. NHL Central scouting has a master list ranked by North American skaters and goalies and International skaters and goalies and can be found at the NHL.com website. The prospects page on the main forum here on hfboards is a great resource. You can search a page of pretty much any prospect available for the draft and find a lot of information on them including video clips. I caution that there are a lot of crazy’s on these boards unfortunately who over exaggerate on these forums, so find posters you trust and weed out the others.

Obviously for the early rounds the Bob McKenzie, Craig Button, Sam Cosentino and Jason Bakula lists from Sportsnet.ca and tsn.ca respectively are good resources that have some write ups on most prospects.

There are other sites like the hockey writers future considerations or hockey prospect where you can find some information.

This draft is a lot of fun and compared to others on this site, it moves fast. Try it once and you’ll be hooked and not able to wait patiently for next year.

Please choose any one of the teams remaining, first come first serve and everyone will only get one choice, then it’s random name generator.

@5cotland can you help a brother out and take the Rangers for this mock draft? Picks in rounds 1, 4, 5, 6 as usual, no trades.

Islanders it is then

What the end goal?
Just picking the best players avaliable or balancing with your current team rooster needs?

In the end we tally up the +/- of your draft ([draft position you mocked them] - [draft position actually selected]) and thats our arbitrary winner.

The end goal is the friends you made along the way.

Otherwise you run your draft how you see fit. Some people have been around for 8-9 years of these and are compiling their all-time squads, so perhaps thats the end goal. Some people draft players only named Ryan, or who played for the Erie Otters, or strictly those that patrol the blue line, and some people draft by BPA. The mock is your oyster.

I know very little about this years draft but I’ll take a spot. Maybe give me the Oil if they’re still around(OP makes it seem like they are)? Make it easier for me to motivate myself to research if it lets me criticize the picks they actually make :laugh:

One more and we can divide up the remaining teams with the volunteers we have for seconds. A team like Vegas has only 4 picks and a 1st rounder to play with, an easy landing spot.

We have enough that we'll finalize tonight and get started tomorrow or the day after.

The Chicago Blackhawks would listen to offers to move down a few spots from 2nd overall.

We'd also have preliminary discussions about moving up from 18th overall, if anyone ahead of us would like to add more draft bullets.

Going to see if any offers come in and enjoy this glorious evening.

Also, we will be updating the draft order now that your Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers have advanced to the SCF. While we've always gone by points for, I feel like we should swap the Oilers and the Panthers in our draft order.

Gents something has come up at work. I have to bail sorry, but at least it was before we started.

Sorry to hear that, thanks for letting us know.

We have two teams that need new homes. Can anyone else step up?
