Im the William nylander of this I think

~ ppgish (1.05 like/comment)

I’ll take that as a compliment and as @BallardEra above I’ll take my 11.5 x 8

My raw production is truly elite

Can't wait to hear about likes/60 for some of these guys with like 1000 posts total

Most of my posts are from before Likes existed

I say we reset everyone’s likes to 0 and then also activate dislikes that count as -1

Also, does a laughing face (once it arrived on the scene) because your post was so blindingly stupid count/how to remove them from the total (because they are considered a 'like'). An own goal as it were.

Laughs are neutral no plus or minus. It's like a PP goal.

I agree. I’m old and want to be paid for the years I missed out on likes.

Wasn't sure exactly where to post this thread, but I've been thinking and had to share a silly idea of mine...

If you really think about it...."comments" here are like games played, and the"likes" are like the goals and assists(pts).

IMO...if you have at least a 1/.5 pt per game(comment/like) ratio, that should be considered "league average" if you will. 1/1-1/1.5 should be considered good to very good depending on the # of "games played"(comments). 1/2 is elite status. All-star/first team all-HFboards material. And again this goes in line with # of comments for obvious reasons. The more the better. I'd say 25,000+ comments with a 1/2 comment/like ratio should put you in the conversation for league MVP. And anyone at 1/3 and beyond is a prodigy, and if they reach 30,000 comments with a 1/3+ comment/like ratio then they are officially in the "generational" conversation, among the best of the best to ever post at HFboards.

1/.5-1/.25 = below average

1/.25-1/,15 = bad to very bad

1/.15 and under = worst in the league territory

I might be off on this, idk. This is tough to pinpoint. But I'd be curious to see some of the top ranking posters/the poster with the best "stats".

Thoughts?

For those of us that have been around a while, hundreds or thousands of posts might have been made with no system in place, so when the system kicked in we started with a massive deficit.

I think that’s how it works at least.

I don’t think you can actually do this accurately.

I’m pretty sure that for years the system counted posts but did not count likes, etc

If you have an older account (like yours), your ratio is going to be way off

Oh didn’t see this before I responded with the same answer

And for those of us who posted before likes were a thing? I'm well over 1LPP since they were introduced, but kids on the internet these days would look at my numbers and think I'm one of those beer league goalies from the 80s who let in double digits each night.
That and a lot of threads the likes are simply a reflection of the race to post something funny on the 1st page of a thread. There is a group of folks on the mains/trade forums who will say whatever just to get a few likes on their post ... "cheap humor" if you will.

Kind of like a puck goes in off a player's ankle as he's falling to the ice and yet he still gets credit for the goal?

Many posters around here do nothing but fall to the ice and have pucks bounce off of their ankles and asses all the time. 🤷‍♂️

This is just an awful idea, period. (I was well into my second thousand of posts when the "liking" feature was first introduced, but anyway it's a silly notion to suggest that the reactions count means anything.)

Back in my day we didn't have things like pokes or Jokinen waffles. This was a Dustin Rose fanfic site.
