  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Whaddya think about going to 8 OT minutes like suggest at the GM meetings last week?

Stats suggest it would complete 90% in a “game” setting in that timeframe. I’m for it.

Not a fan of shoot outs other than exciting but not to finish games where play off positions are dependent on.

Edit - I see above now.

...3-on-3 is Pond Hockey and Shootouts are nothing more than a Skills Competition...go back to 5-on-5 and TIES after 10 minute OT... :thumbu:

I think the NHL made a mistake by making the shootout three shooters per side. That’s just me though. I actually prefer ties to shootouts but that’s a very unpopular opinion and I know they’re never bringing them back.
I don't mind ties, but 3-on-3 seems to put a disincentive on shooting. I'd rather just go with a shootout after regulation, as only an idiot would punt the puck back to their own zone in a shootout.

You’d have to be pretty stupid to punt the puck back into your own zone in a shootout, considering that when the puck ceases its forward momentum after being first touched, the play is considered to have been completed (with a few rare exceptions).

Did you watch hockey when Bobby Orr just had a brush cut and no flow? Black and white TV or radio? Reg season Games were only tied back then.
I started following the league in 86 but i like 3v3 because it's great to see the elite players showcase their skills with the extra space..........It just has to be regulated a bit (maybe an over and back rule)..........
