Gallagher certainly didn't mean to hit Gibson, but you can't allow him to do something like that without penalizing him. It was a stupid play for him to try and cut between Gibson and the net.

The idea that is is just the Red Wings who "have been getting away for this for some 25 years" (an ACTUAL Eddie O Quote) is laughable.

Not saying no one else interferes ever, Its just the Redwings did that more often and better than anyone else in the NHL. It literally has nothing to do with Eddie O. Anyone with hockey knowledge can see that. But if blaming Eddie O makes you feel better about getting embarrassed at home have at it.

I stole it from a wings poster a few years back and never changed it out of laziness. Off topic but I don't really think that was a bad comeback at the time considering how many nhl players that 2013 team produced.

Now this is better. A coach calling out another team's play while they're playing that team. What an incredibly unbiased and concrete source, not to mention an appeal to authority but hey, this is better than nothing I suppose.

It's generally on the person making the original statement to provide proof/reasoning but sure you got me here. I just believe the Wings have this reputation in the same way they had/have the "ref wings" reputation. A person or few people made the comment and HF posters love to blame things on anything but their team after a loss similar to how everyone loves to blame the refs. Have you watched the Wings recently though? You saw them tonight. We're really not that good at subtle interference. I wish we were better honestly. I see teams pretty consistently outdo us in that regard so it's puzzling how we're still the team that has the major reputation for it.

And that's fair, I just don't think the Wings were that much ahead of other teams in that regard, if at all. They were just the poster-child for it because of media. I don't think we're as good at it now either, yet it's still mentioned almost every game.
