For sure, it’s a nice milestone. Just not sure it says much about the team when they’ve been thoroughly outplayed in so many of their wins down the stretch. A lot of fluky wins.

Demidov, Huston, and Suzuki is a great nucleus to build around for sure.
It does however say lots about the teams that couldn’t pass them

A lot of flukey wins? Care to show where?

They also lost vs Chicago and a 1-11-2 Philly team, etc etc.

You are bitter.
What in the world would I be bitter about? Detroit is terrible and im not refuting that at all. Montreal is a better team today, no question.

However they beat multiple teams while being badly outplayed during that 6 game win streak. Chicago they were also outplayed.

They sucked in the last stretch for sure but that's not how they made the playoffs. They made it because of the December-February stretch where they actually looked like a decent team...

You better hope not or everyone will tell you the rebuild is failing and yall gotta restart

Or something
They won't. Demidov for a whole year and hopefully players to fill out a 2nd line. 2 or 3 players should be ready to play on the 3rd and 4th lines. And if Reinbacher is healthy a solid d.

They had very little offensive zone time. Not sure that lack of shooting is the issue.

Believe me, lack of shooting is an issue.

Had lots of period with 3-4 shots all year.

31 out of 32 team for shot per game.

If you dont know what you are talking about, why bother hot taking weird things.

Agreed. Demidov should be a big injection into that offense. They need to fix the 2nd line though. Laine and Newhook are truly useless. 1st and 3rd lines are great. Demidov would be a lot more effective if he wasn’t dragging those two around.

IMO they should go after a guy like Duchene in the offseason. Cheap vet that can play.

Montreal was expected to finish bottom 5 this year and did nothing to strengthen their roster in the offseason or tdl.

They’re not supposed to be here, this is all a bonus
They added Laine in the offseason and they got Carrier for Barron before the deadline. That and "adding" Hutson, developing Dobes as a legit goaltender, and having their kids be one year more experienced. Not nothing.

I just watched this game and they barely had any opportunity to shoot as they were barely in the O zone. That’s all I’m saying.

crazy how nobody could take the spot over them. wouldn’t be shocked if we take a slight step back next year. Says more about the eastern conference this year than anything
Even with the Calder winner next year too?

...they just won 6 in a row before losing to Ottawa...they were up & down all season, except for the first month & a half where they were garbage...

They lost vs Chicago.

They didnt get outplayed against Florida on back to back. Like not at all. Suzuki owned Barkov all season long.

They smoked Boston.

They got outplayed by Nashville, yes. Thats one team.

Detroit score 1 goal vs the Habs. Habs scored 4. Hard to say its a badly outplayed game.

So its one game out of 6.... So yes you are bitter and trying to minimize the achievement of making the playoffs. So yeah you can admit you are salty.

I'm hoping the Avs do if Nelson doesn't stay, but if not, have at him

If the Avs don't win it this year, they really should just consider biting the bullet and taking the contract. Even if he's only effective for another two years it feels like they've been missing his impact and trying to figure out replacing him for the last three years.

Very happy about the Habs win, but its too bad Columbus couldn't get in too. I really like their team and fanbase.

They were definitely outplayed by Detroit.

You can say I’m bitter all you want. I’m not a wings cheerleader and I’d fire Yzerman this summer lol. We suck ass and other than drafting Yzerman is bad at everything else. I have no delusion that we are some good team. You are trying to gotcha me, I’m just discussing the habs lol

No matter what you say even if truthful you will be called out but let's be honest, the East was really shitty this year and that played a big role in who made it.

I mean if you look at the team stats 17th in GF 23 in GAA, 21st on the pp and a negative goal differential, most people wouldn't think that would be good enough for the playoffs.

TBF, I'm completely gutted my Nucks had the season they did and I'm jealous that a team had everything go right while over here nothing did, lol.

I will say wings fans should be pissed because if their GM had been more aggressive last summer, the wings could very well have taken the next step without damaging the future.

I like to hate Montreal, but I have to admit that I’m happy for their fans.

Say what you want about Montreal and their fans, but there’s no better place for NHL playoffs. I’m pretty sure 90% of players around the league would agree. This is where you want to play playoffs hockey.

I'll bet that TNT is happy that they picked up the Knights @ Canucks game, if only because Vegas will be icing the Doug & The Slugs tribute band members.

yeah. they added Dach in 2022 and newhook in 2023 with similar moves. Did you expect playoffs those years?

Point stands. They werent buyers, and went through the offseason and tdl with big holes in the lineup.

Yeah our GM is incompetent so far at everything outside of drafting. All we can do is pray he starts behaving like he did in Tampa bc there’s no way they’re going to fire him. But yeah the East WC race was sad.
