GDT: HFBoards GDT: 03/25/2025 | Pretty sure there are less than one million games today.

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Calm down it's the Penguins

Yea, yea...I've taken that into consideration, but still...given how the Bolts have dropped games to teams like Boston after they dumped their players, to the freakin lowly Flyers, and even to the Utah NonNamed, I'll celebrate when I can, even if it IS against dead bird penguins...

If you got more people you can feed, I'd appreciate it.
Wouldn't mind seeing the Bolts get a laugher for once...

I always watch the Bolts game with my husband as long as it doesn’t conflict with a Utah game. I just usually have dinner ready by puck drop. Today I didn’t because I had to go pick up my dog from the groomer.

There's something respectable about playing for the same team your entire career. It's just difficult to stay competitive when you have 3 players doing it. Imagine the Caps still dressing Holtby and Backstrom.
Or Trotz going on year 10 as coach. Sullivan having them play like it’s 16-17, and only attack for offense, is so dumb.

They’re not even trying to win games. Just points for Sid.

If Leafs lose to the Senators in round 1 i'm venmoing the xenforo admin to drop another update
The heat would be nuclear if they lost to the Sens.....

Then again i grew up as a little kid in the 80's during the Ballard era........So maybe it would be just another day in Leaf Land.............It was a circus then and it's a circus now...........

Never a dull moment with the Leafs, Lakers, Yankees, and Cowboys....Lol

Hard to knock a player as good and as classy as Sid but the situation there is stopping the franchise from moving on to the next phase of things...........I think they need a rebuild.......

But yea, back to your original point - trading Malkin a couple years would have been smart.

I’d enjoy seeing Crosby go somewhere else and play meaningful games. But he’s earned the right to do whatever he wants
Your Caps looked like they needed a rebuild too and then they retooled they're having a monster year.............Not sure the Pens could duplicate that though.............Caps situation is a bit rare imo, right coach and roster construction all coming together at the same time.........

Like i said Pens should rebuild......

Yea, but the Pens FO has been so volatile. No real long term plan and they cowtow to Sid (he made them keep Malkin/Letang).

Anyways - in Caps land we know we have a good org, but no one really saw this season coming together so perfectly. Really amazing job, we’re lucky as fans.

A lot of that was fortunate, as Backstrom had to retire, Kuzi had the cola issue, and Green was let go early in his career, relatively. In a different timeline, the Caps are icing the same team in games and alumni games.
