Nah, the Oilers' management solution to pretty much every personnel need is to add another scoring forward.

If you think that is facetious, consider that the Oilers are really the only true contender in the NHL that is built on the premise of always being able to outscore the opponent no matter what else. The Oilers are built from the forwards back, whereas most other contenders are built from the goalie out.

With that outlook, it doesn't even make sense to waste cap on another defender unless it is a scoring defender .... but since it is so much easier to find scoring forwards, just get one of those instead.
I'd lose to argue your premise but...

Stauffer saying we won't be getting a G, going dollars in and dollars out and maybe a depth Dman? Isn't half our D core Depth Dman? Can we get a good one?

Yea, but Bob might be the missing link, so who cares what he says…

Avs announcers talking about Mackinnon getting decapitated because Letang didn't get called for hooking the arm. These clowns don't get enough attention for being the worst announcers in sports

holy jesus Wild are just giving every other puck away. not sustainable.

Freddy G gives us a cushion but it isn't going to last if this keeps up.

Holy c^&%$ what a sequence on that Wild PK.

Freddie Hockey without a stick....ducking, weaving, head faking, trying to block shots and check players...
He got HIS aerobic workout, didn't he?

"and bend, and left, and left....and right, and right...cmon Mr. Gaudreau, don't quit on me now...let's gooooo, let's get that figure back....aaaand back, and front, and left and right..."

Was just watching Marcus Foligno specifically on his last shift.

Guy takes a nasty hit in the end boards....but then, goes to the front of the net, tangles with whomever that defenseman was there....then rushes back to his defensive zone when he sees his linemates can't keep the zone...bashes into a Seattle player to create room for the Wild to exit the defensive zone, then finally back to the bench.

Small sample, but a pretty good indicator on what that guy does more often than not. He definitely is the kind of player who doesn't give an inch to the other teams on any battles, doesn't coast when he doesn't have the puck, and is willing to put his body on the line if it means getting good position on another player.

Whomever thinks the Wild can do without him on the team simply doesn't know what they are talking about.
Sure, it'd be nice if he found the scoresheet more, but he does plenty each and every shift to more than make up for it.
Plays his role well.
