What's the issue? Isn't most the roster healthy or are some key guys injured?
Nah, most players are healthy. It is a strange slump, but they have a habit of going through this ..... although this is the worst that I can recall. Mostly a lack of scoring combined with a blase attitude to doing anything following a score other than to lazily wait for the other team to score.

Zegras GWG hype train pulling into the station. EA should put him on the cover again.

If they can add a legit 2nd liner and ep wakes up suddenly the team looks very complete, 2 big ifs though

Yea, I've felt the NY Rangers as CUP contenders were pretty overrated. Good team? Sure.
Vezina quality goalie? Absolutely.

But the rest of the core seems aging and the young players haven't seemed to pan out like they wanted (Lafreniere, K'Andre, Kakko...and yes, I know he is traded).

I think the Rangers themselves have lots of holes to fill and JT isn't gonna be that cure all.
They will find it tough sledding in the East as they are currently built, to keep up with teams like Carolina, the Devils, and the resurgent Capitals....not to mention teams in the Atlantic like the Leafs (yes, I am giving them their due this season), Panthers, and maybe even those upstart Senators!

Lots of ifs for sure with the Rangers. They are still a good team, but people pre-crowning them SC favorites now, and even just a couple seasons going back, is absurd.

Weird scheduling quirk:
My Bolts see the Senators in consecutive games...and both are at Amalie.
Don't think I've seen that before like that.

Also, good win for the Lightning tonight against the Sens. They needed that BADLY.
But as the Bolts are prone to do to me this season, they made it a bit scary as the Sens wouldn't go away and made things awfully close in the end!

You dont appreciate how important those empty net goals are until you see Montreal trying and failing repeatedly to score one

Ohhh, that's probably because someone activates the magnetic poles on the nets, which triggers that little chip in the puck to head either towards them, or go wide, whenever a Habs player takes a shot on the EN :sarcasm:

Tbf to Bednar, Colorado reeeaaaally looks like a 1 line team right now.

Judging by tonight it looks like MacKinnon & co. score or they dont win.

Meh...Colorado has been a 'one line team' MANY times over the last several years. It's why they haven't done much besides that one Cup run they had some time back.

That season, they actually got secondary scoring and Darcy Kuemper played out of his mind.
But the running formula, which still seems to be valid apparently, is "shut down #29 and his linemates and dare the rest of the lines to beat you".
